I am suffering y'all. I am trying to do this pre op diet without coffee and my head is about to pop. Is there anyone that can suggest a substitute caffeine to help take the edge off this withdrawal?

Help me. I don't think I can do this for another six days.

If you're allowed, take a tylenol for the headache. It is SO worth it to have the caffeine withdrawal done before you hit the post-op period. It's just one less thing to have to deal with after surgery.

Good luck! I know it's tough right now, but it's SO worth it in the long run! :)

Whoa! Do not stop caffeine cold turkey! Slowly cut it out. Have a small amount today and a little less tomorrow and by the third day you should be fine! :)

I agree with this. This is pretty much hoe I did it and I came off it fine. Don't let yourself suffer through it.

You can do it. I was a coffee addict prior surgery and I made without caffeine on my pre op and post op diets. Is hard but is necessary ,You will do fine.

I had to switch to Decaf when I found out that I had high blood pressure. Now I've been drinking it for so long I can't tell the difference anymore.

Too late. This is my second day without it no turning back now. I guess

I have Tylenol but it only takes the edge off for a short while. But at this point I plan on popping another dose

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to stick with this. Good thing is I lost 1 lb in a day ha.

I drink decafe coffee now but I hear ya. I did it cold turkey too and was a mama bear for a week. :) But it was nice to wake up in the morning and not need anything after that. I still miss my buzz from diet colas in the afternoon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
