June 5Th Surgery - Looking For Some Pals!

Hello!

I am scheduled for surgery on June 5th. I am using Dr. McDaniel in Victoria,TX. I start the pre-op diet of 2 shakes and a high Protein meal with veggies starts on May 22nd.....

I am very excited...and nervous. My biggest worry is the lack of energy after surgery. I have 3 young daughters - and we are very active. I know I will be constantly sipping Water...but I worry how long I will be "down" concerning our beach trips, camping, swimming, etc....

I have tried downloading a bunch of before pics...keep freezing up. I am really hoping to utilize this site for support! Hopefully I will make some new friends with similar experiences and we can help each other through the tough times....

I already have a blog.... www.mightaswellbenow.blogspot.com

Not sure if I would start a new blog on here though....

Well -

Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Hi everyone ! I just received my referral and I'm in my way to my first appointment with dr. choi @ montifiore hospital in bronx New York. I'm so happy but very very scared , I've never had surgery before and this scares me a lot although your stories and experiences keep me motivated and positive. Hopefully by September (which is my birth month) ill be approved. I'm definitely leaning more towards VSG being that my family has a history of Colon issues. I've been over weight all my life and now 38 and tired of feeling sorry for myself. Not only do I want to look good but I want to feel good as well. I think what worries the most too is the long term with VSG. Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated and opps almost forgot , I'm 318 pounds and i want to know if anyone weighing this much has gotten VSG and how many pounds have they lost? Thanks so much for all your help & support and congrats to the ones on the losers side!!! :)

Hun I had surgery Monday 11/26/12 but I have three days where I was able to due a lil around the house but nothing like running around or such I would come back to bed and get up once in a while . That has been my experience
