June 5Th Surgery - Looking For Some Pals!

Hello!

I am scheduled for surgery on June 5th. I am using Dr. McDaniel in Victoria,TX. I start the pre-op diet of 2 shakes and a high Protein meal with veggies starts on May 22nd.....

I am very excited...and nervous. My biggest worry is the lack of energy after surgery. I have 3 young daughters - and we are very active. I know I will be constantly sipping Water...but I worry how long I will be "down" concerning our beach trips, camping, swimming, etc....

I have tried downloading a bunch of before pics...keep freezing up. I am really hoping to utilize this site for support! Hopefully I will make some new friends with similar experiences and we can help each other through the tough times....

I already have a blog.... www.mightaswellbenow.blogspot.com

Not sure if I would start a new blog on here though....

Well -

Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Hi Shannon! I was sleeved on May 7th. The first two-three days, I was tired and worn out. Day three, no pain meds and have not touched them since. Day five, went shopping (only for about an hour), walked the neighborhood with my dog, and was pretty active. Everyone heals at thier own pace. I tolerate surgery very well, except for the constipation. I think the vitamins and staying hydrated really, really help, however, I am post op day 6 and still working in all the fluids. I don't have any regrets, and am looking forward to success.

Just got my new surgery date moments ago.. My original date was May 23rd. I chose to change it because my husband’s is tomorrow May 16th and I wanted to be able to help him with his recovery.. So my new date is JUNE 5th!!! I start my liquid diet on June 1st. I wish all the best!! ADD ME AS A FRIEND SO WE CAN KEEP IN TOUCH

Hi all my surgery is scheduled for June 4th! I was submitted to insurance for approval on the 8th of May and 3 days later it was approved! I have been very blessed throughout this whole process everything has went so smoothly and quickly that I feel as if it was just meant to be. I am beginning to get nervous now though!! Let's help each other through this and rock our June sleeves!!!

What insurance do you have?

Hi Everyone, I am new to here as well. After jumping through hoops for the insurance company since Feb, I know have everything done, including the 3 months supervised dieting and all paperwork was submitted. Just waiting for the insurance company approval and then setting the date... I can't wait.... I look forward to hearing everyone's stories as we go through this.

I am scheduled for june 5 as well. i have 3 girls who are active in softball, tap, ballet, jazz, girl scouts and anything else they can think of to run their mother ragged. I too am concerned about energy to keep up with them at first, but I know further down the road they will hopefully have a hard time keeping up with me.I am self pay and am going to Mexico to have my surgery done. Please keep me posted on all of ya'lls journey.

Thanks

Sheree :)

Hey all.. My husband had his sleeve done yesterday. Everything went fine. The actual surgery was only about 30 min. He is having a hard time with the gas. Two will be his second night in the hospital and he has only drank about four spoons of Water. He is not in that much pain but the dry heaving and nausea is really taking a toll on him. He just woke up for about 5 mins and told he don't know if he has made the right choice. My words to him is this to shall pass. Hopefully we can go home tomorrow.

Im still super excited about my surgery next month dry heaving and nausea included!!! will keep you guys posted.. O yea on his liquid diet he drop 30pounds!!!!
