i had my sleeve there 8/31 with Dr. Garcia. Absolutely no regrets. You do not leave your stuff at the hotel, you will be bringing it with you to the hospital, and will get a new reservation/room after you leave the hospital. If your support person does not wish to stay in your room with you, I would imagine they would be responsible for their own hotel room. Please feel safe in Mi Doctor and with Dr. Garcia. He and his whole staff are top notch. You are definitely in good hands, and they welcome any calls or concerns you have after you get back home as well. i have emailed Dr. Garcia a few times and have spoken with Dr. Velasco on the phone.

I had surgery with him on 8/31. I was doing absolutely phenomenal, and then one day I woke up with a few stomach pains, it kind of felt like my whole stomach was on fire. I waitied for it to go away, and when it was not gone the next day, I emailed him. He emailed me right back and asked me for the number where I could be reached right then. He had Dr. Velazco call me. It turned out I just had an over abundance of acid when I was first transitioning to "food". But I thought it was awesome that they will still take the time out to email and call even after you leave. i find that he and his staff are exceptional. Anyone going there will receive excellent care and definitely be in good hands.

I had my surgery with Dr. Garcia on 8/31/2012. I had a pleasant experience, and I went alone.I woke up virtually pain free, and had no nausea, within 2 hours I was walking in the halls. There was a special price of $4700 in august but i think it is normally $5000. I went thru Ready 4A change. They were great, but i would probably recommend going thru A Lighter me. I hope that it is not horrible. I am having my surgery in Mexico. I intend on driving myself home from the airport which is about an hour drive.

Thanks so much for posting this. I am having surgery with Dr. Garcia on the 31st. I am going alone and it was just now beginning to bother me. Luckily, I have met a same day surgery buddy on here who is going alone too. But this makes me feel even better.

That is so great to hear. I am excited to go, and excited to get it over with.

I am scheduled for june 5 as well. i have 3 girls who are active in softball, tap,ballet, jazz, girl scouts and anything else they can think of to run their mother ragged. I too am concerned about energy to keep up with them at first, but I know further down the road they will hopefully have a hard time keeping up with me.I am self pay and am going to Mexico to have my surgery done. I have some questions though for any of you who have already been to him or know folks who have. My mother wants to come with me, and I wasinformed we will be staying in a hotel, which is just fine with me, however, how often do they come to check on you at the hotel and if you are in ain are there still options at the hotel? Or just pretty much hoow does it work? Thanks sheree

I am scheduled for june 5. I am lucky and my mother wants to go with me.i do have a question though, if you are at the hotel and you need something, do you call, do they check on you a certain amount of times, if you are in pain, what do you do,etc??
