    What Was Your Breaking Point?

I love everything that everyone has said on this topic. My story is similar to most. I'm 39 and have a 5 yr old son and I want to see him grow up. I've been heavy all my life, tried all the diets, etc... Lost and gained it all back plus some... So at my heaviest 292 lbs. I decided that I just couldn't do it on my own and I needed help. I researched the options and decided on the sleeve. I figured my weight had been a problem all my life, so the solution might as well be a life long commitment as well. I started my journey 1/21/12 at 292 lbs and I was sleeved 6/13/12. I am currently at 256 lbs. and happy with my weight loss. I'm only now starting mushy food but so far no vomiting. Hopefully if i listen to my stomach, I will keep it that way.... LOL .... I was very nervous to start with, thinking about what I was doing to myself and if I was taking the easy way out. Now it doesn't matter. I've realized that I've finally at least did something to try to better myself. I don't think anyone has the right to comment or fault me for that. I'm happy that I've decided to make a change for the better and plan on living my life to it's fullest. Good luck to everyone on this journey, you are definitely not alone.....
  2. I was sleeved on 6/13/12 and I was on just liquids till yesterday. The first week was nothing but clear liquids then the next two weeks was clear liquids and protien shakes. I did notice once I started the protien shakes, I did start to feel hungry a little. But usually it was around the time for the next shake and it would go away for awhile after the shake. I did start picking at food as I was cooking for my family and for an entire week, I didn't lose any weight even though the rest of the time I did nothing but liquids. Live and learn I guess..... lol ..... Now I get to start mushy protien and veggies for the next two weeks. I found it hard yesterday to finish 3oz of protien and 3oz of veggies. Started to hurt a little in my chest while eating, so I stopped. I guess that's a good thing in a way. Good luck to you both and here's to success for all of us.
  3. I was sleeved 6/13/12 and I wish you all the best. I have some problems with my pills and the pharmacist had to give me smaller pills. I have to take more now to get the same dose but they go down. Hoping each day gets better for you....

    Post-Op Cravings And Discouraged!

I am 3 days out of surgery and feeling the same way. Making food for the family is the hardest thing to do. My doc has me on 1 wk of clear liquids then 1 wk of clear liquids and protien shakes before I can start soft food. I know most of it is in my head, but all food just smells so good right now. Good luck to everyone and it's nice to hear that I am not alone either....
  7. Hi Everyone, I am new to here as well. After jumping through hoops for the insurance company since Feb, I know have everything done, including the 3 months supervised dieting and all paperwork was submitted. Just waiting for the insurance company approval and then setting the date... I can't wait.... I look forward to hearing everyone's stories as we go through this.
