I totally understand being excited! Let us know how it goes!

I just feel kinda silly being excited about getting the sleeve. I told my GP on friday and she is over the moon for me too. I'll let u all know how I go. Misty, ur going to Greenslopes aren't u? That's where I will be too. U'll havd to let me know what the hospital is like

I'm having this one done at the Wesley, but I have had a knee surgery, a hysterectomy, a colonoscopy, and an endoscopy at Greenslopes. It is a wonderful hospital. You have nothing to worry about with regard to the hospital.

That's right lol. I forgot that!! Cool. I was wondering what it was like. But thanks for that

I feel the same way as you and mistysj seem to.Excited and apprehensive. The sleeve promises to liberate us from this endless struggle over our weight. The idea that I won't have to do yet another failed diet (I find it difficult not to internalise this as my own personal failure) *is* exciting. As much as I love food, I also loathe the unhealthy way that it dominates my life.Surgery is a big risk.Being fat is a big risk and is doing me physical and emotional damage. We are choosing to take back control so ask as many questions as you can.Good luck on Wed!

You have hit the nail on the head! I'm just over trying different diets over and over. I really do see this as a tool that will stop the cycle. I've got a list of questions to ask and my husband is coming with me. I just can't wait. Thanks so much

Bec and Misty, it is pretty normal to feel some level of anxiety about the procedure, as well as relief and excitement. I remember the day of the surgery like it was yesterday, I was so calm the weeks leading up to it, prepared for every eventuality or so I thought. The day of the surgery I freaked out...but it all turned out for the best, and now looking back I wonder what I was so scared of.

Just trust you have done your research and have made the best decision for you :)

I am nothing but jazzed!!

I was good with everything in pre op but just as my parents were saying goodbye, I shed some tears. More for fear I guess. After that I was fine.

79.7kg...goodbye 80's forever!!!

That's great! How close is goal?

Way to go Nessa!!! Another milestone down :)

I have 47 days to lose a tad over 10kg...want to get to 68kg before I see surgeon.
