Hi everyone. Like many newbies on here I have been "stalking" this thread for about 6 months now and I must say u guys give me so much hope and encouragement. I found out today my application for early release of super has been approved, so things seem to finally be falling into place. My next surgeon visit is set for 26/6 so I'm hoping for a surgery date a couple of weeks after that! I am very excited. Jimbo, where did u get the bowl and plate from? They look great!

Helen

Congratulations Helen! How exciting you have your super approved.

I think I turned a corner yesterday. The diarrhea is gone. Shoulder pain is much less. I was able to get in all 3 shakes and 13000 steps yesterday. I even did some shopping!

Hi Helen, welcome and that is great news about your super. I bought my book and plates from a website called www.greatideas.com,au BUT I only ever used the dinner plate once, but use the bowl several times per day. I found the dinner plate too big and prefer to just use a pretty side plate for my meals. You can buy them separately. eers Kelli

The orange book portion perfection for bariatrics and the two portion aids below (bowl and plate) is packed with information and is a simple way to understand portion sizes with visual product pictures showing Calories and recommended sizes. The bowl and the plate guarantee if used correctly you will never over eat again and will assist in training your body and mind to the portion sizes your new body requires

FYI, I bought these plates too. I love the bowl but don't use the dinner plate as I prefer a smaller pretty side plate. I am happy to give my dinner plate away if anyone in Brisbane would like it????

I just want to get some small bowls that only hold half a cup or 2/3 of a cup. I think that will be helpful. My dietitian has told me I shouldn't be eating more than 1/2 cup at at sitting for quite some time.

I'm glad it is helpful. Truth be told I am feeling great!

When I got back from my 45 minute walk (4000 steps already done) I had half an espresso optislim shake. Then I decided to treat myself and gave myself a foot treatment that has to stay on for 10 minutes' date=' then had a shower. Now I'm back out on the deck and its warm enough for a tank top! Having the other half of my shake and enjoying the weather. I am washing the linens too since they weren't too heavy to carry.

I'm glad I've taken the time off so I can focus on getting all the liquids in, but other than that I would have no trouble working at least a half day. I'm a bit of a workaholic though so I'm not letting myself check my work email etc for at least the first week. I think I will feel up to going to mass on Sunday and that will probably be my first outing. Unless I decide to walk to the shops this afternoon and have a coffee.[/quote']

It's more than helpful misty thank you.

These sort of progress stories help me get over my humps of doubt.

B

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
