Hello everyone

I am new here. Was looking for anyone who has been home a few days and has a low grade fever. Last night it was 100.7 and went to bed early. It broke and I am down to 98.9. I am exhausted today and my mom has been forcing me to eat( well slurp)! I HATED being in the hospital! I felt like I was bothering them to go to the bathroom. They also took 3 hours to print my paperwork after my doctor released me! I think fear of going back didn't help me last night, I started to sob, ugh!

I just want to know I am not alone! So silly but my emotions have doubled since the surgery. I know it was the right thing to do. I was overweight and un healthy, but I doubt having something so permanent.

i'm sorry you feel that way:( you should feel better real soon when you get up and start moving around.

i haven't had my surgery yet but it is awful to be in the hospital and in bed having to have help.

just try positive thinking focus on how you want to look and feel and know it is not long before you will reach your goal.

pat yourself on the back for making the bold decision to change your life!

take care!

What you are feeling is totally normal. I felt the same way, but I promise it does get better. I did not have a fever but I did have the same emotions you are having. It got better for me about 2 weeks postop. Just hang in there. And your not alone....you have us. :-)

I hope you are feeling well soon but if you do spike a fever again and you are feeling unwell make sure you contact your doctor or emergency department because you may have an infection and need antibiotics.

I had a low grade fever the first day home (I was in the hospital 2 nights) and felt like I had the flu. ugh. Sip your Water, be very gentle with yourself (you've just had major surgery!), and follow your nutritionist's guidelines. I was an emotional wreck for the first couple of weeks and was mostly in a rage (I am surprised I am still married ;-) It does get better, it really does.

Elizabeth, I hope you continue to progress well in your recovery. Take it slow.

I understand about hospitals - I once heard a saying "1hospitals areno place for someone unless you're really sick"

Thank you all for the posts. I am doing much better. I have been walking outside, not far though and getting food down to where I feel like I have energy. My temp has been between 98.9 and 99.7, which is better than 2 days ago. Did you all feel nauseous after a popsicle. They have been the one food that I go to but this morning I almost got sick from it

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
