Personal Trainer JITTERS

Recommended Posts

For the first time in my life I have joined a gym... a real gym. Yes, I did a few Water aerobic classes at the Y, but now I have a personal trainer! YIKES!

I weigh 327... and I am scared. What do I wear? Will the muscled meat heads stare at me?

Any hints:paranoid , suggestions,:nervous stories:o , encouraging words:eek: from you would be appreciated.

It can be a little humiliating at first - not because people stare at you either. The muscleheads in the gym are usually to worried looking at themselves in the mirror to notice anyone else.

But if you're like me, its a bit stressful letting people pinch bits of your fat, letting them see your true weight and getting red faced and puffed doing the fitness test, lol. Never fear, you'll get through that and they've seen it all before. Once you have your program and can get working, you've as much right as anyone else to be there, so dont feel embarrassed, good on you for doing it.

They may stare but most people will admire you to get in the gym and workout. I used to go to a gym about 10 years ago. Very cool atmosphere with nice people. One woman was very large and everyone in the entire gym bent over backwards to help her succeed. She did it! Good luck! Trust me, those muscleheads are there to look and feel better, too.

Congratulations!!!!!

Wear something comfortable, long t shirt or breathable material and workout material pants, to your knee or longer. You know like the yoga pants, socks and tennis shoes.

Don't worry about the meat heads, you are there for you. They are thinking or this is just temporary but you it is not. You go every week and do your thing. Watch them, watch you change your body.

Positive attitude, smile, no complaining, JUST DO IT!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

If you don't want anybody stereotyping you because you are fat or making fun of you while you work out then why would you use a term like muscled meat heads?

:heh:

I met with Sara today. She measured me and taught me how all the machines work and how to do my individualized cardio and resistance work outs!

It was actually very nice working out with all the like minded people. They were not staring at me. They would glance at me and smile. I love working out!~

(I thought I would NEVER EVER say that!)

Thanks for your encouragement.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
