Probably not. If your knee hurts already I would not begin running on it. Running puts a lot of pressure on your joints. What might be best is to pick up your speed while walking first. Or better yet, if you are able - do some squats and lunges to build up your quadriceps, which will help protect your knee when you do start running. When beginning to run, it is alway a good idea to do an interval - such as walk four minutes, then jog one minute, and repeat. Good luck to you!

I would wait til you are under 200, for the above mentioned reasons. You can try walking on incline instead to get your heart rate up.

You don't indicate how old you are in your profile so I'm not sure if it might be an injury or arthritis.

I have a bad knee....for a long time I just put up with it but finally went to a Orthopedic Dr. who determined it was arthritis from an old motorcycle accident injury. I'm sure my extra weight did not help either. I would recommend that if you continue with knee problems that you have it checked out so that you can get the proper treatment. I take glucosamine supplements which do seem to help. There are also specific exercises for strengthening the muscles around your knee. Squats may be hard on your knee as well, depending on what is actually going on with it. There are other knee issues besides arthritis and the treatments would vary. I would not jog, that will be harder on your knee than walking although once I lose weight and strengthen my leg muscles, I would love to think I could run again.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
