Not Sure When I'm Full

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm 11 days post-op and I'm having a lot of trouble knowing when to stop eating. I'm on the full liquid phase and I have no hunger at all, so I've been eating just to keep up energy. Having no hunger, it's very hard to know when I'm satisfied. When I get gas pains in my esophogas, I stop. Has anyone had this experience?

Full liquids is a hard stage to know when you are full. When you start eating solids, you will know. If you feel uncomfortable or bloated with any full liquids it's a good bet you over did it but it would be hard to do.

Don't think about being "full" with the sleeve--think about being satisfied. On liquids, sip slow but pretty much constantly so that you get in your Protein and Water. When you move to solids, measure less than you think you can eat. You can always have more later. It's tricky in the early stages to know how much is enough but you'll figure it out over time.

Sip slowly, if you have too much you'll feel discomfort. My sign of eating too much or drinking too fast is hiccups or rarely throwing up. Just sip slowly but consistently.

It's difficult training your eyes not to be larger than your sleeve. The portions we are eating are amazingly small and the slightest amount you eat that puts you past the "satisfied" mark puts you in peril of serious discomfort. Don't eat what looks right, eat what feels right!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
