Recommended Posts

I lost 21 lbs my first month. It has been 4 months since my surgery and I have lost 54 lbs. So, don't worry it will come off. Everyone loses differently.

Hi! I will be 1 month out on the 20th. I have lost 24 since surgery but 39.5 since I started the pre-op diet. I would say your loss sounds great!

I lost 45 pounds my first month, but nothing in the past couple of months. I guess we all are different.

In the past, on the many diets I'be been on, I've found it really easy to lose a lot of weight quickly. I have to say that since I was sleeved on 3/22 that my weight loss has been much more uneven. The first and 2nd weeks I lots nearly 1 pound per day. On week 3 however, I only lost 1 pound for the whole week. Like you, I have been very good about my Water and Protein intake. I wasn't really concerned, but I was curious why it was different this time. At the 3 week mark I began going back to the gym and doing the stationary bike and the treadmill. Although I'm not burning many calories the exercise seems to have "broken the log jam" so to speak. In the last four days I've lost 6 pounds. Moral of the story, just keep doing what your doing, the weight loss will happen! Don't compare yourself to others, you are doing great!!!

I think you cannot compare anyone's journey to yours- We all have different surgeons with different post op plans- we all have individual chemical make ups which enable us to loose faster or slower than others. I personally lost a lot my first month and then stalled as most people do- I have seen/heard others that dont loose a lot at first but then 3rd or 4th out start drastically loosing.

It all depends on your consumption and level of exercise as well. Some do more than others..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
