The Need To Feed - Myself !

Recommended Posts

my surg was 1/24/12, I can only eat max 3 small bites of most any type of food before getting foams / slimes. I measure, i watch he clock, I only try foods that seem to chew easy, dissolve etc... Yes I know the point of the surgery was restriction of food intake, the point of the surg was not to stop eating entirely ! I was told I should not be this limited at my stage of the game, I am not nauseated - simply foam & slime. Carbs go down so easy, I can tolerate rice & Pasta & tortilla chips so easy. Please dont give me any trouble about the fact that I have tried those food items. I have simply gotton to the point where I have to eat something ! Bloodwork was perfect, physical was fine. Please tell me where you all were at approx 9 weeks out, what items could you eat & qty (i know it varies, i just need examples) For example - the other night at dinner, my friends 3 year old child - ate approx 4x's the amount of food I could handle & he finished his dinner long before I did.

I guess the good news is, I'm down 35 LBS

Thanks !!

Nancy, howbfar out are you ? Not everyone gets this. It usually happens if you eat too much or too fast. If this happens you Will know. Its an excessive amout of salivia that you produce, so much so that I keep a cup with me to not have to go to the bathroom to spit every 30 seconds. Foam is also produced, its just terrible. When you "vomit" its not like what you would expect, its an actual slime ball, im sorry i know this is disgusting. This happens to me most of the time if i eat anything other han pudding or yogurt. It happens when i chew min of 40 times & also if i wait 5 min before taking a second bite. Hope you never encounter this !

Hi, Mona. I'm only 2 weeks out, in fact late last night/this morning are my first attempts at the "no chunk" diet. I will be on this phase for 6 more weeks. I'm certainly a newbie compared to a lot of people here, so when I see things that I don't understand I just have to ask. Thank you for sharing. Gosh! I hope that gets better for you VERY soon!!

Just know that it will stop soon. I think mine stopped about 10 weeks out but everyone is different. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
