Anna, I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I was losing some and then these past few days where I have been eating the least amount, my weight loss has slowed. I know from past experience that once I eat below a certain amount of calories, my body goes into super conserve mode like it is afraid of starvation - as if I don't have enough to spare!!! I am not getting overly upset about it. I know along the way we will all hit those stalls and it is all part of the process, so I am just taking it in stride. I already lost the required 10 pounds. Are you not meeting some minimum requirement for your surgery?

Only 3 days to go if you count today. Now I am starting to get a bit nervous. Hope to keep busy around the house this weekend. And for those of you that are in the path of the upcoming possibility of tornados and strong storms as my house is, may we all be safe and sound. My thoughts are with all of you.

The caffeine headache is terrible but it will only last about 3 days.

Mine has lasted longer and since I also have Migraines, it got so bad that I had to break down and have a few sips of something caffeinated. Just those few sips would help. If I did not, I would not have been able to work. Caffeine dehydrates. As far as I know, this is why they don't want us to have it. I have been increasing my Water to compensate. I have not "slipped up" on anything else, so I am not going to beat myself up for this one. Not advocating that anyone else do what I am doing, mind you.

April 23 - 4th day of preop diet. feel tired. seems still a long time away. Hate this having to suffer beforehand. Almost makes me angry. But I'm doing it. And I'm down 6 pounds this morning. Wasn't gonna weight til the end but something came over me....lol. I really wanted to spring clean this week, doesn't look like that's gonna get done now... Good luck everyone. WE CAN DO THIS.

My sleeve date is the 17th. I too am very nervous. I've had 3 c-sections and my gallbladder removed so I just keep telling myself its gonna be okay. I guess another thing that really makes me nervous is the pain and if I will have any complications. I only have to do 2 days of a clear liquid diet....today and tomorrow are my last days with food for a few weeks. I'm fine with this! I've lost 30 lbs since starting my journey and looking forward to start the summer off much healthier :-)

Mariposa73, I think it has to do it BMI. Those with lower BMI don't have to do it as long. I could be wrong but that appears to be the common thread.

My surgery is the 17th. Ive had a rough time with this preop diet. Ive really never been a liquid kinda person so i have cheated on the diet. I went online and i looked into diabetic recipe Soup and thats what ive been doing. Its still hard but i prefer that than the LIQUID alone. I understand that after my surgery im only gonna be on liquids and thats ok because what i hear from others u gotta force urself to drink cause u really dont want anything AT ALL but while my stomach is this big i just cant do it, its horrible. Scince my surgery is tuesday im really planning on starting today the liquid only for the next 3 days, hope i can stick to it. Best of luck to everyone.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
