Any Women Here Have Pcos ? & Had Weight Loss Surgery So Chances Of Being A Mother Can Increase ?

Recommended Posts

:) Hello their everyone, my name is Karen. I have PCOS :( and Im a 21 yrs old. I've been trying to have a baby with my husband. We've done In vitro and NOTHING :( so my Dr recommended me to get weight loss surgery so my chances of being a mother can increase. Basically so my PCOS symptoms can decrease. Are their any ladies here that have PCOS and have the surgery and have a baby now? or did your DR recommend this too ? thanks in advance :D

Being that I am only 4 months post op I'm not trying to get pregnant just yet, but PCOS and fertility are the biggest reasons I chose to have WLS. I can tell you that in these 4 short months I have noticed a lot of improvements with my PCOS symptoms and I am A LOT happier!

I also had to make the decision to stop trying to conceive and have WLS so that I may try to conceive in the future. I have PCOS that was only diagnosed 1.5 years ago. I was on birth control for 19 years and the doctor's missed the PCOS the whole time. I am 35 y/o and my husband and I tried to conceive for 2 years. The doctor's had been recommending WLS for the last 5 years as weight just kept creeping on even though I was on a great diet and had a personal trainer (that pesky PCOS). I am 5 weeks post op and have lost 42 pounds since the pre-op diet (a total of 7 weeks). I feel so much better and am glad that I chose to do surgery first and then try to conceive in a few months when it is healthy to do so. It was a heartbreaking decision at the time, but one that I do not regret at this moment.

@Karen2012, you are still very young, talk to your doctor's but you if you are able to have surgery first, in my opinion, I would do that in order to feel better and be healthier and ultimately have more energy to run around after those little ones that will hopefully come in the future. Good luck in whatever way you go.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 7 years ago . I am 4 months out and at 3 months out I was not longer insulin resistant :),no bad cramps when I get my period. So yeah pretty much my sleeve helped me a lot with PCOS,so far so good, Your periods will become normal after you weight loss most likely if you suffer from irregular ones . Good luck, you won't regret this surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
