I Might Have Hit A Bump In The Road!

Recommended Posts

I went in for my pre-op weight-in today and - after weighing - the nurse asked me if I had been sick lately (???). She then went on to tell me that she had just learned that my pre-op chest x-ray showed signs of pneumonia. What the heck?? I told her I had been experiencing some congestion in my chest a few days ago but certainly not to the point that I felt I was sick, much less from pneumonia. Anyway, she gave me some mega antibiotics in the hopes that this thing can be resolved before surgery or it will have to be postponed. My surgery date isn't until next Wednesday so she's optimistic that we can go forward as planned. Wow.... waiting for the big day has been hard enough and now this. Anyway, I guess I'm just venting some frustration by posting this and hoping you will cross your fingers for me... it all helps. Thanks.

That's crazy...and I am sure they caught it in time to fix the issue so you can still have surgery!!

I had pneumonia for almost a month and didn't know...thought it was a cold and me just being lazy.... Please be sure they repeat the chest x-ray before ur surgery.... the last thing you need is to be under general anesthesia w/ infection in ur lungs!!! This was a blessing that it was found!

Oh, this was 8 months pre- op and I had to get several CT scans and chest x-rays to make sure I had no sig scarring before I could sleeved.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
