I voted middle. Mine is 1/2 way between my ribcage & belly button, but slightly off center of the midline...to my right, but still definitely middle.

Mine is deadcenter right below my ribs. It pops against my ribs if I move a certain way - kinda freaky when it does that.

Mine is about an inch or two below my right breast (below the bra line).

Mine is on the right because I have a permanent colostomy. So my doctor has to do my backwards! I was scheduled to have gastric bypass and my doctor said he wouldn't do it because of the colostomy. So here I am with the band and losing very slowly! I think after another fill or two I will be ok.

Ok, no one is going to believe this, but mine is on my left side, right above my left breast. If you were pledging allegiace, and put your hand over your heart (like you did in elementary school), it is right below your hand. My doctor pioneered this, and I really don't know the reason for it, but it is very convenient. I don't know how I would do with a port in my tummy area somewhere.

I cant see the port, but I do feel it easily since there isnt a lot of thick skin or fat over it. Fills are easy, I have never had a problem - Ive had two.

Mine is directly below my xiphoid process... very little space between the two. Its easily felt with the fingers... sometimes it bothers me when I'm in yoga, only one pose though, so I don't go as deeply into the pose as I should.

I am very short-waisted, which my surgeon commented on when he was estimating where he expected my port to be. It ended up being about 2 or 2-1/2 inches above my belly button, and 2 inches to the right of center.

I wanted mine on my right side (lower than my belly button) where I have a small tattoo. I thought it would be a good way to mark the location for fills. My doctor explained to me that he does not put them on the right side. He does not want the tube to cross the centre of the body in case one ever needs emergency centreline surgery & it gets cut like in heart surgery, or something on the right like an appendix.

I ended up with my port lower than my belly button on the left, though not as low as I would have liked because now my port scar is right beside my belly button. I would have prefered it to be hidden in my pants.

Thank god I thought I was the only one with one right in the middle.

I can feel it and if I stand sideways you can kind of see it. The ort feels like it's between the subcuteanous fat and ab muscles. I guess my goal of onr day seeing the hint of a six pack are gone, cause if i get real lean this thing will stick out like a lump. Not happy with that

but i guess i have to focus on the task at hand. What's done is done.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
