  2. I had a port infection but i was after surgery , your was awhile ago so it may be a flipped port causing inflamation...if ever your unsure about anything "call your doctor"
  3. My first was on the right side and my second is now on the left. (port replaced because of infection)
  4. I would love some feed back on this just because I think its interesting .... I have a support group that I go to each month and I have noticed one topic keeps coming up... spicy food and how much the banders in my group crave Hot spicy foods ... one women has developed a love for balsamic vinager and hot mustard, but most go right for the hot sauce. Has anyone else experienced this since being banded ?
  5. Ok i know we cant take Ibuprofen but whats the alternative? What about taking Children's Liquid ibuprofen?
  6. I would say your past the risk ...i wish i were you right now, the pain is killing me. I feel like im being punished for do so well, it sucks!
  7. My weight loss has been since the band only 6 weeks ago, aand thats what i said to the dr. my GB is stressed out! im still having pain after i eat and im taking pain meds to deal with it . Im not going to give up the GB .Beside they arent willing to take me back in right now because 1) I still have a open incision from my port removal and 2) i think they want to wait till my surgery returns form vacation before making any decisions...i told him the only operson make this decision is ME. I asked for the actigall because i heard about it from everyone else in my support group they all take it..... why now me? as far as i have heard the side effects arent to bad Fingers crossed! let me know how things go!
  8. I had my surgery aug 1 on sept 10 i had my port removed due to infection and now 6 weeks out im still losing im down 43 lbs and now im having gallbladder pain. I have had bloodwork and ultrasound done ....bloodwork shows a inflamation and everything else normal with normal liver fuction. Ultrasound showed "NO" stones but some enlargement of the ducts. Prior to my surgery i was not placed on actigall I now have a perscription for it .... has anyone else done this? and been able to avoid having their gallbladder removed?
  9. I had my surgery Aug 1 2007 my port incision leaked from day one but always looked ok, the fluid was clear and i had not redness or swelling or fever. Now 5 weeks later the incision was almost closed, I had it down to a bandaid and all of a sudden the drainage starts again. This time the drainage had a colour to it, some bleeding and a yellowish green milky discharge. I went to the dr. asap and im now in the hospital on antibiotics over the weekend with fingers crossed. I have to be honest I believe im looking at the operating room come monday to have the port removed. If they have to remove the port im then looking at a return trip 6 - 8 weeks later to have a new port placed on the oppisite side. The good thing so far is that im still feeling restriction even without a fill, and I did tell my Dr. that i would not return to the O.R. untill my weight loss stops or begins to go back up. I hope my experiance helps and i will continue to update as i go. If anyone else has gone through this i would love to hear from you, thanks
  10. Thank you all for the feedback so far and your right i would still never have the bypass done and i think if she had the option at the time she would have done the band to (im feeling better now)
  11. Hi im new and ive made the decision to have the band (no date set) ok heres my problem my best friend had the bypass done more then 10 years ago she lost weight at first but now its all back and from day one has had nothing but problems (pb's) ok worst part i was against her doing the surgery before hand (i tried really hard to talk her out of it) but when she made the decision i did support going in and afterwards im just not sure how she will react now when i tell her what im going to do (i feel a little like a hypocrite) what should i do how do i tell her?
