Officially 1Month Out Today & .....

Recommended Posts

I have lost 32 lbs post op & 43 lbs total. Unfortunately I am still worried that I made a mistake. I throw up nearly every day! It's such a downer. I have started eating really moist/wet fish daily & that's going well so I'm hopeful, but this has definitely been harder than I thought it would be. I HATE Protein shakes, milk & sf pudding. I wanna chug Water by the gallon but struggle to get 64 oz in. I know it will get better eventually........right? :) That said, I'm totally stoked about the loss & this was even with a one week stall !!!!

Off topic: what's a nsv? I see it on here all the time but have no clue!

I was sleeved on January 16th and my scale says 21 lbs. However, when I went to the dietition and got on the "magic scale" it said that I had gained 8 pounds of muscle and lost 25 lbs. No quite sure what that is all about but I think that because my BMI is lower I am building muscle pretty fast. I do feel hungry alot and usually eat cheese or something when I feel that uncomfortable feeling. I am ramping up my walking and Water hoping that it will drop a little quicker.

I did not have trouble eating anything except beef, ground beef. Have not tried any other type of beef and really don't want to. I do find that I am having more trouble eating now than I did. I wonder if my stomach is healing now and tightening down a bit or maybe I just feel it more now. Still having a little trouble with my blood pressure and my medicine slows down my metabolism so I am going to talk to my doctor about that.

My husband who also had the surgery had alot of trouble with vomiting the first month or two. He is six months out now and is not having that trouble anymore.

Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Thanks for all the positivity!! I appreciate the supportive peeps on this forum soooo much !! It's so nice to have access to people who really get it :)

As for the differences in losing...everyone loses at a different rate for different reasons I have a high BMI so that's prob why its moving quick. Plus the daily vomiting...although I didn't throw up today...yay! I even ate Beans w/ cheese & a little sour cream when I went out to dinner w/ my girlfriends so that's super exciting :) So here's to all of us Jan sleevers success !!!

Congrats on the weight loss :) Keep up the great work.

I was having issues with vomiting for a while and wasn't able to do Protein drinks, but some time between month 2-3 I retried Protein Drinks and found one that I could tolerate. I don't enjoy them but I consume them for my health. I also only get sick once in a blue moon, and its certain foods that do it to me. Ground beef will be fine on day, vomit the next. chicken used to be my go to Protein, but I overdid it and the smell alone makes me nauseous now.

You will find what works for you :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
