Not At Goal, Under Goal...

Recommended Posts

What month did you stop losing?

If you went under your goal did you gain some back?

I am at month 8. I have 33 pounds to go to 160. Totally doable, but just want to know when your body stopped FOR GOOD. Not a stall.

Good question! I have definitely slowed down, only losing about 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks. I still have about 50-60 lbs to go. I feel so much better, but am now impatient, lol!

I hit my goal of a normal BMI (150.8) in my 9th month...then lost 2 lbs in my 10th month, 2.8 in my 11th month and 1 lb in my 12th month. I haven't lost anymore since my 12th month, but I haven't been trying to either. I bounce anywhere from 144 -148 for 8 months now.

I hit a normal BMI of 25 at under 8 months and my personal goal of 150 at 10 months. I did not try to lose any more but continued to drop about a pound a week through November and December 2011 and part of January 2012. I must say I had two surgeries 4 weeks apart and didn't feel much like eating for a couple of weeks. I think I have stopped losing as I have remained at 138-139 for the past 4-5 weeks.

I think it depends on if we stop restricting ourselves, honestly. My body is very happy here in the 134-138 range and doesn't want to lose any more weight. I reached that point 17 months post op.

However, if I really got serious and restricted my calories back to where I was in the first six months post op, I'd continue to lose.

I'm just not willing to do that.

The last 40 pounds fell off slowly and the last 20 took six months. However, there's nothing to say any of us *couldn't* continue to lose at any point. After all, our stomachs are bigger but they'll still only hold 3-5 ounces at a time.

So my opinion: we stop FOR GOOD when we stop trying to lose weight. :)

I am a year post op now. I hit my goal of 90 lbs down at 6 1/2 months out. I finally stopped losing last month and am down a total of 115 lbs.

I still want to lose 20 to 30 more pounds. I am still losing about two pounds per week, but I also do not restrict my food at all. I never did. I eat whatever I want, so I am slightly worried about stopping. From my posts over the last 8 months this has always been my fear. I did stall for 3 weeks over christmas, but I had a terrible cold and someone on the board said you can stall when you are sick. I guess I will just see where I am in a couple of months. I can only eat a little bit, especially that first meal of the day. Things tend to get looser towards the end of the day, and I can see I get the majority of my calories at night, but it still is under 1000...Most of the time around 800 or less. I guess I could try to up my calories, but I am not sure how I would do that. I just measured myself for Body Fat (based on the military test) and I am at 27%. Losing 33 pounds and getting to 160 might be unrealistic and borderline unhealthy. I haven't even started working out yet. I am slightly worried if I start to work out I will not be able to consume enough calories to maintain a proper body weight.

From the calculations to be around 20% Body fat would be a weight of 167 given my current body fat % now. 160 might be too low for me. I think I am going to find a dunk tank to find my true body fat percentage. I only have 26 pounds to get to 167. That is so freakin close! I really hope I do not go below 160!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
