Info: Sleeve gastrectomy 9/16/11

No other problems, but for the last few days I have felt needle like pings.

My first thought is that the titanium staples have come loose and are floating around in my body.

Any ideas? Any others experiencing these symptoms?

sounds like you need to see your surgeon. I would get this checked to make sure it's nothing serious

I sorry correct me if I'm wrong please. I was under the impression that the staples dissolve, don't they? so it's five months out for SleevePirate should there still be a concern with staples?

No, the staples don't dissolve, but the skin scars over them and seals in a way. It may be the stitches in our incisions you are thinking of that dissolves.

Hmmm sounds odd, is this just in your sleeve, or are you feeling it all over your body? Could be a nerve issue, or a Vitamin deficiency? You probably should discuss with your Dr and have some lab work done. Let us know what you find out and I hope you feel better soon.

OMG!!!! I have to live the staples in my stomch for the rest of my life...... Aaaawwwww maaaannnnn I didn't know this, totally bummed now...!

Have you seen the staples? They showed us some in our preop nut class. They're tiny. Not at all what I was picturing.
