Is Smooth Potato Soup Okay On Full Liquids If Pureed?

I am on full liquids and wondering about making my own potato soup. If it is pureed to a liquid consistency, would it be okay?

I assume it would be fine. I ordered some from Applebee's during that phase and I was fine. I made sure to try and skip around the chunks of potatoes and if I did get some, then I would chew very thoroughly. Only problem I really had was that it was probably was a bit too greasy so my stomach gurgled a little bit. I also was only able to get 3 or 4 spoonfuls!

Since you are making it yourself, you should be better off since it'll be less greasy and you'll be able to puree it.

I had some during that phase. I thinned it out with extra milk, pureed it, and put unflavored protein powder in it. Mine had about 20g of protein per serving.

My only concern is that its really strachy and typically on a deduction side of the surgery you stay way from potatoes.

I say go ahead and eat it, see if it works for you. Just to change up the flavors we get is worth it. If it dosent work, don't do it again, and if it does, try not to over do it. Good luck. Kathy

Pureed Potato soup should be okay at this stage, but it doesn't have much protein unless you add some to it. Maybe add a little protein powder to your portion, if you can tolerate that.

my surgeons diet guidelines show any creamy soup (potatoe included) to be on this stage...no large chunks! You should be good to go!

Personally I say do what you can to get through these phases. They stink after a while and in reality this weight loss journey is a walk not a race. I don't think we are eating enough for carbs to make a difference at this point and if they are, you have plenty of time to make up some ground.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I made some today and my nut suggested adding powdered milk to increase the protein. It was good! :)
