    Hiccups

I've been told hiccuping can be a sign of a leak. Am I the only one that hiccups pretty often? When I was banded hiccuping was a sign of being full. I went in looking for a leak because of hiccups and found no hiccups. Why are hiccups bad? Anyone get them with no leak problems?

    Salad

I wouldn't try carrots but that's just me. They have a ton of sugar and are not the easiest to digest. Cooked the texture is better but there is more sugar.

    Salad

I eat salads in small quantites and I am about 6 weeks out. I can't do the tangy dressings at all. I do cottage cheese as my dressing put it in a covered bowl and shake it for my "dressing". I can only eat about 1/4 of a cup at a time.

    Is My Body Just Done?

Have you considered bumping up your calories? It would give your body a jump and maybe get you moving on the scale again!
  5. cheese can be high in fat but I eat less than an ounce at a time and I couple it with high Protein. I precut the cheese in 1" cubes and store them in tupperware. I eat yellow cheese with low fat creamy Peanut Butter. I eat white cheese with humus. Also I think you may be surprised that your tastes may change after the surgery. Before I couldn't get enough of sweets, chocolate, etc. Today I really have little hunger. I don't really like the taste of sweets as much. I love Greek yogurt with a touch of honey(great high protein food that I didn't care for before).
  6. I am a vegetarian. I do eggs, cheese, beans, protein shakes. I add protein powder to everything. Hope this helps
  7. Don't reintroduce chicken right away. Your stomach is going to be really sensitive. How long has it been since you have eaten chicken, at this point you may have lost the enzyme to digest it.
  8. I get tons of compliments on how great I am looking and how the weight is falling off but I notice no difference in my clothing. Anyone else? Anyone still think that they are retaining water?
  9. Any doctor that says you need to lose x by x should be shot. This is not a race, enjoy getting to know your new body. Remember the slower it comes off the longer it stays off.

    Swallowing Pills?

Never cut a time release pill. It can be very harmful.

    Swallowing Pills?

I swallowed my aleve last night. I am 3 weeks out.
  12. My husband saw that there was prilosec that lasts 2 weeks. Has anyone tried this? It sounds like an amazing thing and almost too good to be true with one less pill I'd have to take. How effective is it? Thanks in advance for your feedback!
  13. Thanks for all the feedback. I am not the norm bariatric surgery wise. I was a tight 8-10 when I had it done and am still in my 8's. Longterm wise I want to stop at a size 6, so in reality I should just expect a bit of a weight.
  14. I indulged in a cute lunch bag. I pack snacks, gatorade, breakfast and Lunch in my bag. That way I am more than prepared for the day. Any snacks that don't need to be refridgerated(pudding pack, protein shake) that I don't eat I keep in my desk for future stuff. So far so good.
  15. Glad you are sounding better? I will say for a week or so after getting sleeved I wondered WTH I had gotten into. Gatorade? Jello in liquid form? Pedialite? No sugar added juices(apple, cranberry)
  16. Anyone else have this? I was running errands all day and feel like I may have overdone it but want to check with you guys. No fever, no chills just a really sharp stabbing pain. I was sleeved 1/31/12 Thanks
  17. remember a baby is between 7-8 pounds and there is a large placenta and lots of fluid. 25 pounds seems like a very healthy weight gain! Congrats!
  18. I have a burning in my throat and at night I feel like it is on fire. Nothing comes up but I suspect that it is reflux. Has anyone had this type of reflux? I was telling my husband about it and he mentioned tea causes reflux. Have you heard this? Wondering if I should do an OTC medication or if I should just call in for a prescription. Help? Also does it get worse as you add mushies and solids to your plan?
  19. To me it makes a bit of sense. You've seen results eating almost nothing, two meatballs as sensible and healthy as they are seem like an indulgence. Next time you feel guilty, remember what you ate BEFORE you were sleeved!
  20. I had surgery 1/31 and am terrified to start mushies, but I have a meeting this Tuesday at a mexican restaraunt that I have to go to. As a vegetarian I have a hard time with 99% of mexican restaraunts. Do you think its ok do do mushies a few days early? Also how did you guys tolerate beans(I am hoping their black Beans or refied beans are vegetarian friendly)? I am terrified of moving to this new stage. So far so good with my WL, 22# in about 2 weeks I am already halfway to goal as I only wanted to lose 50#. Thanks!
  21. Sadly yes, most refried beans are, and I can almost bet this place is being a traditional mexican restaraunt. Its amazing what you find out is in your food when you change your diet!
  22. Thanks for the feedback. most soup broths are made with chicken stock which makes them not vegetarian.
  23. Personally I say do what you can to get through these phases. They stink after a while and in reality this weight loss journey is a walk not a race. I don't think we are eating enough for carbs to make a difference at this point and if they are, you have plenty of time to make up some ground.
  24. Please keep us posted! You are in my thoughts! I went through a leak during surgery and it wasn't fun:(
  25. Girls night out tonight we are going to see the Vow. Super excited but I wonder what I can bring to snack on. I am going with a group that has no idea that I was sleeved. Help!
