Hey, everyone.

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to get more Protein from solid food. How long did it take you to not have to depend on Protein drinks for your 70 gms. of Protein?

Thanks.

good morning, i'm out 3 years now and still have a problem with that. do that best you can is all i can say. make sure you always start your meal with the Protein and make sure it's dense protein. then inbetween throw in a Protein Shake as well as before bed time. Good luck!

I have had the same problem since starting real food. I still have to have a shake or a liquid Protein vial (GNC perfect Protein supplement) to make up the difference. I like these because I can add them to Water and take it to the gym with me, my favorite flavor so far is fruit Punch.

I also use Health Wise hot chocolate drink (15gs protein) just before bed. You can find this on www.whydiet.com

Hope this helps.

I asked about this at my six week visit, and NUT said she would expect that until 3 months out I would still be relying on some Protein drink or such to help make it to 80 grams. that was kind of a relief. I wasn't sure what I should be expecting of myself.

Today is my experimental day to try to see if can get my requireds without shakes.I'll have a shake to round out the day if I don't make it.

For Breakfast I had:

1 chobani (14g)

1 hardboiled egg (6)

Lunch:

6 thin slices lunch meat (6 g)

3 oz cottage cheese (9)

snack

soft Jerky nuggets (talking about them on another thread had me try them..LOL) 20 g.

So so far, 55 g of Protein. I have to find a dinner with 20g and i can almost make it.

Thank you, all. I was so looking forward to eating solid food, and I'm still eating some soft foods to get in the required Protein. *sigh*

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
