Kansas City Area Sleevers?

Husband and wife team will become " sleevers" next week on Feb. 1, 2012. Wondering if there are others in the area that have already had surgery or are newbies too. Counting down the days on pre-op liquid diet.

It got to me and sorry for the late reply. I won't be able to make it this time. I am helping my mom do some gardening on Saturday and on Saturday morning my daughter and I volunteer at our avian vet's office. She also does avian rescue and we go and clean cages, feed and give fresh water as well as attention to the rescue birds and those being boarded at her facility. I promised my daughter we would go this Saturday. I hope you all have a wonderful time and I will try to make the next one. I could not believe how refreshing these cool evenings have been. What a treat!! Take care all and have a great weekend.

I will try to make it on Saturday! I will bring my non sleeved hubby along. I cannot have coffee yet but I will bring a cup is something that is liquid.

See you there!

Thanks for setting up the meeting on Saturday. It was so good to meet you, your husband and BikerChick519. I look forward to our next meeting. I am still on liquids for another week and then finally SOFT FOODS :D Hope my new stomach likes something that I get to eat!!

Kansas City Sleevers, anyone who is interested in meeting, next opportunity will be Saturday, October 27 at 9:30. We will meet at the Bean Counter Cafe on Hiway 7 south of Blue Springs. It is in the Lead Bank building on the east side of the road.

They do have hot, iced or frappe Big Train Protein drink. 16 oz. has 20 g of protein, 130 cals, 25 carbs, 5 fiber. Choc, vanilla or strawberry.

10/27/12 Mark your calendar!

That is awesome that they have protein drinks, I should have had one at the last meeting, I stopped at QT and bought the Oh, Yeah brand and it was so disgusting. Not making that mistake again.

Hopefully I will get to be there on the 27th.

It was great to meet some local sleevers. I had never met anyone face to face who's had the sleeve so that was nice. Hopefully we can get some new faces there next time.

Hi, ladies! I think it's awesome that there is a KC group on here. I am a current LapBander, but beginning the process of getting a revision to VSG. I live in Greenwood and would love to meet up sometime :-)

We are meeting again in October, here are the details. please try to join us :) It is great to get together and talk. I was just sleeved three weeks ago today so I am very new to all of this.

I hope to see you all next month. I am doing ok. I sure hope we get this rain they keep talking about. I am not getting as much exercise as I would like. Seems like I am spending all my "free time" battling Mother Nature for my trees, plants and most important my foundation. This summer drought sure has been stressful.

The hair loss has started like crazy :( That was sad to see last night. I have been taking Biotin and eating enough Protein. My PC doc told me that it is stress on the body. I know this and knew it was going to happen, but still it was sad.

On a bright note, yesterday I went through 5 pairs of pants trying to get ready for work and ended up putting all of them on my "discard pile". I ended up with a skirt since it had an elastic waist. Has anyone else added nuts back into their diet? I just added them this week. Not a lot, just a few every day. I still never eat more than 3 oz. at a time. That really fills me up. I have noticed that my hunger is returning (I was sleeved 4/16/12), so I try to make sure that the protein I eat is quite dense for my 2.5 to 3 oz. to help stay satisfied longer. That is all on my front. Keep up the good work. For those newly sleeved, hang in there. You will do fine. Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend. :)

I live in Ottawa ks. I work in Olathe ks. Looking for sleeved friends my email wilson.tamara31@yahoo.com

Just putting this out there again for those in the KC area that want to meet with other sleevers.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone and asking more questions. I was only two weeks out from my surgery last meeting so I am now two months out and doing much better.

Mark the date on your calender and come out to meet up with us and have a coffee or protein shake!!
