1Month Today Or 4 Weeks

Hello everyone, today is my 1 month post op, I am doing great. I have lost 19 pounds, I feel as though I am losing slow compared to others at 1 month post op. I will take it though, I keep telling myself "at least the scale is moving down and not up"!

As hard as it is, try not to compare your journey with someone elses. You are doing great! Just keep working on your own goals and you will achieve them.. This of course is a lot easier said than done. I have to keep telling myself this all the time. I think you are doing phenomenal!

Congrats on your first month loss...19 lbs is great! And take it from someone that's now two and a half months out, if you stick to the plan, it will only get better.

p.s. Who did your surgery? We may have had the same surgeon.

Thanks y'all!

My surgeon was Dr. Joseph Kuhn, he is amazing! Not to mention that he is the current President of the Texas Association for Bariatric

I am 1 month 2 days post op. I feel your frustration on the "slow" movement of the scale!! Both of my sisters had WLS and they lost their wait so incredibly fast!! There are days I don't lose anything... sometimes up to 2-3 days in a row! I get irritated. I am still pretty weak, and my energy level is still pretty low... I am trying to incorporate exercise but I am limited due to fatigue. I figure I am eating about 500 calories per day... and I know I am not getting my protien that I am suppose to be getting.... I wonder if eating too little could slow things down?

I wish you the very best of luck!! I am sure in a year we are going to look back and laugh at how impatient we are being now...

Here's to a wonderful year in our new and improving bodies!!

19 lbs in a month is great! If you feel like your weight loss is too slow, though, just make sure you're tracking all your food and keeping up the exercise. :)

I guess it's the glass half full or half empty thing. I lost 19.5 the first month and I was and am VERY happy. I think that is an incredible amount of weight! It's not even close to what I was able to lose before and most importantly, I have better chances of keeping it off.

I am really trying to enjoy the journey and shed all this mental anguish and pressure. I wish the same to you. :smile1:

I am not an expert, but I think the answer to this is YES! Try posting a new thread about this to see what others say.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
