I Have A Constant Stabbing Pain Ouch

hey everyone,

As my name suggests im very new to this sleeve. Im 15 days post op and i have a constant stabbing pain/ stitch type pain on my left side, up under my boob, and it feels as though its under my rib cage. Does this sound normal. I am still really run down and a little dehydrated too so i had my fingers crossed it was just part of the process. Some days the pain is alot worse than others, it usually feels a bit better when lying down and it is at its worst when standing and walking. i called my surgeon today to make my 2 weekly appointment only to find out he is away on holidays for another 4 weeks so im seeing his assistant on friday, this was also really frustrating as now i cant see my actual surgeon for approx 6 weeks grrrrr. any help and advise would be greatly appreciated, and also any tips on pured and mush foods would be good too. Thanks everyone, its great to see a little community all connected and there to help.

That was the spot that hurt the worst on me. I remember reading that that is the site that they actually open bigger and take the parts out so separating the muscle hurts. Sorry!!! It does get better! Also if you feel a pressure Gas X chewables really help!!!

I'm having the same pain....so what happened with yours? I'm 2.5 week post surgery. It just started this morning. Hurts when I walk or twist. No pain when I sit for the morst part. This pain sounds pretty common as I;m trying to research now....

Just wondering!

Here is my question: Did you have a hernia repair?? I have had that same pain intermittently for four months. Not bad and not for very long at a time. In fact about 10 minutes ago I called my surgeons office to make sure this was still normal at 4 months. She said it is. If it is hernia related, there is a mesh they use to repair the hernia that as it heals it absorbs and kinda pulls for a little while. Sometimes there is scar tissue that pulls as well and causes discomfort. Increased or varied activity will make it worse sometimes and/or pull it loose (in a good way, not breaking) then it stops hurting. I think that is what happened to me today. I've had the pain for a few days, went to the gym, now it feels better.

If it's not the hernia, it could still be the incisions healing and pulling. Or gas. I had a bad bout with a sharp sharp pain in roughly the same area the first week after surgery, then when i had my first sips of cream Soup, it whooshed out!! It was weird.

I hope there is something helpful in my ramblings. ;)
