Hey y'all, I am wondering how long did you take off work post VSG? I work as an Admin Asst and I dont any physical work. My doctor recommends taking 3 weeks off work, but that seems like a lot of time. When did you feel comfortable going back to work full-time or did you ease into working??? Help, I have to request off work soon. Thanks.

I took a week off. since i do not have a hard job. I am a medical receptionist and so the only thing was i had to have some one lift things for me. I am 17 days post op and get a little tired here and there but not to bad. I would say just take what you feel you need you know your body better than any one. You may beale to set it up so that you have three weeks off and if you feel better you can go back early. But you should take what you need do not rush your self.

I was sleeved on Wednesday, Nov. 2, and returned to work on Monday, Nov. 7. I am a high school secretary and sit on my butt all day.. The first 2 days back at work I only stayed 1/2 day. but I "COULD" have stayed the whole day.

At night I go to bed very early, by 8 each night that first week but I get up early also..

It just depends on how YOU feel, I had a great surgery and have not had any pain, only discomfort. Everyone is different. I would plan on 2 weeks and if you are like me you could go in 1/2 days for a while.

I haven't been sleeved yet, but I'm also teacher (Math/Science)... Hopefully my surgery will be the first day of my holiday break... I'm also taking the entire month of January off for a total of 6 weeks off.... I want to make sure I have my routines down and that I'm past liquid/pureed food stage...

I took 2 weeks off which included the surgery so bascially a week and half after surgery. I went back to work that monday and was exhausted and ended up going home early tuesday and staying home wednesday. It really depends on how you are feeling.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
