Can we eat honey?

Recommended Posts

I'm pre-op, and I'm starting to eat greek yogurt. I want to get myself accustomed to eating it. I was reading that a drizzle of honey and a dash of cinnamon might make it more palatable. So my question is: can we have honey? If so, when are we allowed to have it? And, I should add that I'm not a big fan of honey...I actually have never had it, so it's not like I would go overboard with it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Well I've had honey post op and it never gave me any problems. The only thing I can think of is the sugar, but really if you only plan to use a tiny bit that's really no issue. :)

The great thing about the sleeve is, I have pretty much no issues with anything I eat. Some things (like sugars) I do have to moderate because they can make my physically sick. However, I can still eat it.

Thank you for that info...I just think I might need a touch of honey to make it more palatable. I'm such a texture freak, that I've never had yogurt...or oatmeal...or soup...or shakes. They're too......thick. But I'm getting little hints and tricks to get around that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
