Hello to everyone, longtime reader, rarely a responder. I had my VSG on Monday the 3rd of October-everthing so far has gone very smoothly, stayed in hospital until Wed. and once at home started to feel even better with yesterday, Thurs. being the best day yet. I felt wonderful and was trying to get fluids, meds and Vitamins in and doing such a good job accidently took one to many vitamins at one time. All of a sudden I felt this awful wave of nausea and I must have looked bad as my husband looked worried and wanted to know what was wrong with me. Made my way to the restroom where I almost vomited-almost, just heaved an couple of good heaves and started to lose the nausea BUT at the same time the stitch in my largest incision, where the stomach is removed from felt as if it became tighter actually becoming quite uncomfortable to a point where I needed to take pain medication, I had not needed any pain medication since the evening before. Since then it hurts to stand straight up or twist as if the suture is pinching-something. I know that the sutture(s) is a dissolving sutture but my question is has anyone else experienced this or anything similar and also does anyone know just how long it takes for these suttures to dissolve. I am very uncomfortable now and have started to take pain meds again and am not able to walk as much as I was because of this. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, advice or similar stories (just so I know that I am not the only person to experience this.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
