Hi,

I was also done by Irgau on the 2nd. Are you the lady I met at his office 2 weeks ago? I'm the BIG guy with the beard and glasses. I haven't looked at the support group list yet. Have you? I just got a fill today, which is my 2nd. I didn't lose anything over the last month, as the food just dropped through unhindered (for the most part). I had lost, and have still lost 37 pounds. I was actually ten pounds lighter two weeks ago though. I've been eating too much fried chicken. I was really craving it and I ate 3 buckets over a couple week period. That's how I found out that the foot just dropped to my "lower stomach".

My e-mail address is: figuredwoods@yahoo.com. What's yours? I hope this isn't against the rules. I haven't read them yet.

Rob

Oops sorry, I meant that I was banded on April 2nd, so I'm two months to the day, post-op. The fill worked. This is my first experience with a one ounce stomach. It feels really wierd, almost like something's stuck in my craw.

Hi Big!

How wonderful you have restriction! I have some restriction, I just had a 2nd fill about a week ago. I think I will need to get another fill.

Well, the restriction seems to have dwindled already. I can drink a whole glass of Water straight down and moist foods go right through. I"m scheduled for a Monday fill (3rd one), so I can be good to go to Hawaii in two weeks. I don't need to be able to pig out there.

Hi all,

Well, I gained 10 pounds in Hawai'i and ten more after I got back, but I have lost the 2nd 10 and am still trying to get my fill right. I get good restriction for a few days, then most things that are moist go right through. I do have trouble eating solid meat, so I have to use ground. I'm getting tired of it though.

Pattman,

I'm in Newark. Who's your Dr.? Mine's Irgau.

Pattman,

I'd love to hear from you about local support. I am having a bear of a time losing weight, as my fills always seem to open up after a few days. I'm pretty close, but not "there". My fills are 1 ml or so and they work for a bit, so I must be close. If there's a leak, it is very slight.

Rob,

Honestly I have not been to see "Iragau & Company" in probably close to 2 years. Since the last time they changed there insurance policies, now my Primary Insurer considers them "out of network" and it would cost close to $250 / visit - I'm not financing their new Hummer, when I had to give up my second vehicle myself, and still not making ends meet.

As for my weight loss and current fill, I believe I am at 50% fill on the VG band. I've gained weight since the last time I was there. I was down to 215 (original surgery weight was 285 July 28, 2004). I am probably at least 225 now (we don't have a scale in the house because we both are worried we'd obsess about it).

I am not aware of any local support groups, but I also have not been looking. My job has me doing weird hours and shifts.

However, if you'd like to get together sometime, let me know. I think it'd be great to have a few friends out of work and home {tough socializing much these days).

Hi all. I'm trying to start a private Facebook page just for Bandsters. This way we are all local and we can communicate easily and maybe even work out or have face to face group meetings. The Facebook page is private so people will not know about your band if you don't want them to.

My email is Msyvonne1970@aol.com, Yvonne Brockington on Facebook. You should be able to find me that way and we can all connect.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
