Question for ladies

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I was just wondering if any one could comment on their experiences with their menstrual cycle after surgery.

I had a check up, including hormone check, right before my surgery. I am 48 and in perimenopause but my hormones were still okay and my cycles have been regular and "normal." I had one normal cycle after surgery and then they stopped, rather a very light almost nonexistant off schedule cycle and then no more. I am looking for a new GYN to follow up since my usual is not supportive of my sleeve. But in the meantime I was wondering if anyone is willing to share some imput.

I would appreciate your thougths and comments. Thanks!

Hello...I am 43 and have had very regular periods...I mean to the day. Never missed one in my life until I became pregnant. After my surgery I did not have a period for 2 months. I attribute it to the fact that I was barely taking in 300 calories a day and my body went into a bit of an anorexic sate. Once I got my nutrition and calories up to a decent level, it started up again.

Mine were wacky for about 4 months after the sleeve. I started my period the day after surgery (which was way too early) and then they were all over the place.

I am 37 and am usually very regular.

Thank you so much ladies. It sounds like this is pretty common. I don't get in to see me MD for another couple of weeks. I'll post anything I may learn. Thank you again!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
