7 days post op and doing well. Before I give an update I wanted to say that my comupter crashed a few days before surgery and I was unable to respond to those that started friend requests with me - you know who you are, please write me and let me know how your doing.

Surgery was scheduled for 9:50 am but was postponed as the surgery before mine ran longer than expected so I actually went in around non. When I woke up in recovery there was some pain but the immediately got it under control with pain meds. I was in recovery for 4 hours ( I only know this because when i first woke up there it was 3pm when I finally got to my room it was 7pm). Apparently they had to get my pain under control, I don't remember much of this as I must have slept each time they gave me meds. I just knew in my mind that when I got to my room I had to walk. Believe it or not as soon as I got to my room I asked my nurse if I could walk, eveyone seemed surprised but I did it and I continued to walk every few hours throughout my stay (day and night). Everything on this site tells you to walk to get better so that is what I did. IT WORKS!! I had much better recovery than other WLS patients that were there the same time as me. Gas = pain so walk walk walk to get it out! Day 2 was rough as I learned to drink again, you must take much smaller sips then you are used to and it hurts a bit almost like something is stuck. Dr assured me it would be better the next day and he was right. So here I am 7 days post op - down 14 lbs and doing great. I don't take pain meds, I walk for an hour each day and feel great. Just tired and need to nap daily. Loving the sleeve.:)

WAY TO GO LILLEE!!!! We are having VERY similar experiences. I am LOVING this sleeve. No pain here either, just itching from the dermabond over my incisions. (Dr. doesn't use staples. YAY!) I was like you, I was out of bed as soon as I could possibly swing it, and it cracked me up that the nurses were surprised that I wanted to get up and move so much. I fully believe that contributed to my lack of pain. I think I used my PCA pump four times while I was there. (I was given an ice pack, and I pretty much kept it on my abdomen the entire time.)

And welcome back to the land of "I have a working computer" too.

Keep up the great work!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
