Summer and weight loss

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I hope that your weight loss is going well. I know that summer time can be an easier time for weight loss. It is a lot easier to get outside and exercise more. I know that it is hard to do, but if each day you will try to do something it makes it a lot easier. If you have a exercise buddy to work out with you that is really helpful too.

When I get up and start walking on the treadmill each morning, I sometimes think oh my gosh I don't want to do this again today. About 1/2 way through my 3 mile walk, I am loving it, I feel my energy level coming around, and I feel a whole lot better. I am the person who never liked to exercise, but as I started to lose weight it got a lot easier and I knew this was so helpful for my health and weight loss. Now I know that this is very helpful to my success at maintaining my weight loss.

Also during the summer it is fun having fresh veggies and great salad are nice too. Be a lot more creative with what you cook and how use use these fresh fruits and veggies. Think about making some yummy salads and adding things you normally wouldn't add. Add some nice fresh strawberries to a tossed green salad. You might find out you love all these veggies and fresh fruit.< /span>

You are on the road to a successful weight loss. NEVER give up on what you are doing or thinking about doing. WLS was something that changed my entire life.

Hugs,

Suzanne

Great motivation! I never thought I would be craving a salad and fresh fruit like I am right now. :) It's extra-hard since all the farmers markets are in full swing and I can't enjoy any of their wares. I just keep reminding myself that this time next year not only will I (hopefully) be at maintenance but be able to enjoy all those healthy, yummy homegrown goodies.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
