Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery

  • Popular Post

HI Y'all,

I wanted to do some research with REAL people instead of reading about it in some report.

I'm wondering how much weight (IF ANY) you have gained since being sleeved. I go up between 1-3 lbs. so my answer would be 1-5 lbs.

I'm curious to see how this goes.

Thanks!

I'm currently taking Bariatric Fuel multivitamins, zinc, biotin, CVS calcium chews and B-12.

My stomach has been so sick since the swallow test, it will not digest properly, becoming painful at times, afraid to leave the house, or eat , yup it's that bad

I was wondering if someone could tell me what the 5 day pouch test is? I am 3 1/2 years post surgery and was doing great until the last year and I am very afraid I heading into gaining all my weight back. I just never thought I would gain the weight back. Anyone out there having a similar problem?

Nomore...ME! Many of us here. What'll the pouch test tell u? What s7rgery did u have?

Nomoreweight and reallyrosy, how much do u exercise and do u follow the diet strictly? Important to me because im still pre-op...

Guys, google "5 day pouch test". You'll find what you need.

Yes, but the pouch test dosnt prove anything or help the re started bad habits , in my experience anyway

Agreed re pouch test. You lose and regain. This sucks

I have really good success with the 5:2 diet. Mondays and Thursdays I eat as little as possible. You're supposed to try for 500 calories but I usually go over and it's about 700. 12 hours between last meal and first meal, longer if possible. I have almonds at 10pm so I can't eat Breakfast until 10, longer if possible.

The other days I eat low carb . I lost all of my regain doing this before, and kept it off for 2 years but last year I had back surgery and could not exercise and the holidays and my birthday bla bla bla I gained back 15 and have lost 5 of it.

not confident when i gain weight i will get rid of it.

eeeek bud

don't think that way

KNOCK IT OFF  ;)

if you (or me) gain a few lbs

say to yourself you WILL loose the weight again

that's the only way to go

it might take a little longer, that doesn't matter

you will get there

remember this is a marathon - not a sprint

saying oh no - weight won't go back down

might as well eat more again

gain more, oh well!!

Stop Stop those bad feelings

otherwise i must come over and slap you

i know where you live!! !!!! LOL

you must have confidence in yourself

I have faith in you :)

you must have it for yourself too!!! (please bud)

you can get back on the right track

you know what to do

now get with it!!! smirk, smirk

good luck my friend

I went on a 3.4 mi wslk sunday [took me 2 hrs] and totally stunned myself...destroyed ankles again...practcally was shuffling along..barely able to walk. Couldn't sleep all of sunday, part of monday, last nite snd tonite too. Lost 2 lbs. Gotta find a happy medium.

I'm 3 1/2 years post op and I've gained 20 pounds in 1 1/2 years. I've been doing 16:8 and I haven't lost an ounce. I'm scared nothing is going to work! [emoji45][emoji53] ID love some insight...

Newsusie...what insight? There is a point of diminishing returns: we can neither starve ourselves or increase exercise output past a certain point. The emotional component that makes us begin to feel unattractive and unwieldy and unable to be comforable with iur body as it gains even a minimum amt makes the battle even more daunting. We also are not getting any younger and our aging bodies cannot perform the rigorous moves needed to up exercise output. [Calorie expenditure ]. This defeatest mindset combined with physical realities [i get dizzy when doing lateral moves requiring coninued head motion...my lower back hurts when doing lateral stretches, my ankles prohibit specific postures etc.] Years of self enforced lack of movement and eating uncontrollably and carrying excessive (300-400 lb) wt also take a toll on our bodies. I dont THINK we LACK insight. Im going to see the cardiologist who first suggested wt loss surgery back in the early 2000's and we are going to look at resuming drugs. Clearly, this is an illness that requires its own war base with funding and support. I do wish that the various centers of barriatric excellence would combine their expertise and open dialogue with those of us who have completed these trials and begin AT THE VERY LEAST TO indenify the commonalities and various strategies and tabulate successes and failures of each.
