indio: I am going to try to make it to the lapband only group in April. I work offshore in the Gulf of Mexico so I am out of town every other month. SO i have to plan stuff pretty far in advance. Do you go to most of the lapband only groups?[/quote

My 1st group meeting was 2/5 - I never attended the other ones cuz they were mostly bypass and I feel that we have diff issue - ya we do share one issue in common Food - - plus they are in Palm Springs and I live in Indio. The Lapband only just started in Feb - so that's why I went - it was a small group 6 of us and one pre-bander - Truely - I love this site the most - I have a connection with my Lucky #7 gang & my 50 yr old gang - this place is open 24/7 and I don't have to drive anywhere - I will attend a few more and see how it goes.

Hi,

I live in La Quinta, east of Palm Springs. I haven't found a support group in this area. Where exactly are you?

B

Tweedhill -

I live in Indio... Desert Hospital now has lapand only support group on the 1st Tuesday of every month in P.S. @ 6 p.m. 3/4 - 4/1

Are you a Dr. Bobby patient??? Captain lives in Beaumont or Banning can't remember which..

Research Doctor Ortiz, in Tijuana. He actually has taught the lapband to a few surgeons here in the U.S.

He just banded a gf of mine - she loved him...

Anyone know of a support group for lap band only that meets near Temecula or Murrieta? Also, anyone know of any good fill doctors in this area? I am being banded in Colorado but need to find a good doctor to do my fills.

Thanks!:)

Hi guys - I'm one week post of as of tomorrow - had surgery last week in TJ with Dr. Ponce De Leon at Obesity Goodbye.

I'm feeling great! Digesting well, only took 2 days off work, so far so good. :-)

The only negatives I'm experiencing are food cravings and a tremendous amount of gas/grumbling noises - which I can deal with.

Good luck to everyone!

-Misty

Indio, I would like to see if I would be able to attend that lapband support group your talking about. Would I need to call and register or anything like that? If I do could you maybe give me that # and an address on were to go. If you could I would sure appreciate it.

OMG YOU ARE AT GOAL OR REAL CLOSE - FREAKIN CONGRATULATIONS

I JUST SAW YOUR TICKER - IN LESS THAN A YR,....

Indio, I just got done registering online. I thank you for getting me that info, it was really easy and only took about 2 mins.

Not all my weight loss was after my surgery, I lost just over 60 LBS before hand. I wanted to be as healthy as possible so I could have a fast recovery.

I got to my goal a few months ago and I kind of fell off track and put a few lbs back on. I don’t know how much because I only weight my self at my doc’s office. I have a appointment for a fill on the 18th so I will find out how much then. Anyway I am looking forward to attending that support group on the 4/1 and hopefully I will see ya there.

129 lbs gone is a big deal be proud.. - I am afraid of how to maintain - losing it so far hasn't been hard - but maintaining ????? I have lost it before but never maintained... I only weigh in once a week - the scales flucuate too much - so I only do it on Thursday Mornings (that was the day I got home from the hospital)..

Yep looking forward to meeting you...

Hello from So Cal

Hey there Jeannie - we have alot in common - same starting - same goal weight - I got a couple of yrs on you but still in the same age bracket..

This thread doesn't get much attention - Have to posted to the 50 yr old thread and Feb 08 thread...

Good Luck and welcome to LBT...

Yes we do have a lot in common. Where did you have your surgery done? I went to Dr Francis at Orange Coast Memorial in Fountian Valley. How are you doing so far with everything?

I am down 80.5 lbs - 9.5 to go to goal - all in all - i dont think this has been hard at all - i eat healthy 98% of the time allow myself treats occaissionally not often but enought - I exercise 3-4 times a week - I think I have finally got it - that this is a lifetime lifestyle change in my eating/exercise habit... It took 52 yrs - but by golly I think I got it.
