Banded 7/07 - lost 110 lbs in a year - kept if off for 8 yrs - then Hernia - 2 deaths (Son & Sister) - Grandson Major Surgery where I was primary care giver for the last year - Gained 50 lbs back since 15 to 16 10/17 Finnaly had conversation surgery band to sleeve - and in one surgery - I gotta say really no diff than my ban surgery - I was 52 then - 61 now - had surgery Tuesday feeling very good - by the end of the day I'm a bit poopped -- and may take a little pain med but for the last 3 days - only need a little at nite - Plan to go back to work on Monday -

I go 6/30 for revision - he plans on taking band out and converting to sleeve all in one operation. So I hope I wake up with my sleeve - had my band 9 yrs

Hi I am Janet and I am a recovering food addict :wink2: I was banded 7/17/07 - My starting weight was 250 - I'm 5'4 Today (just over 10 months out) I am 154 - size 8 pants (was 18/20) Medium tops (was 22/24) I got banded as I wanted to extend the years that I have left on this planet and to do that I knew that I needed to lose weight. The band has been the tool I needed. For the first time in my life I have been able to achieve this goal (actually getting to my goal weight) If you want a buddy - support - help - suggestions - Please feel free to call upon me - I will gladly share my journey with you - the journey is still on going and by helping you I will be helping me (staying motivated and accountable) and then one day you can pay it forward and help someone else.

I was asleep so no pain during - or after either - I was expecting face to feel super sunburned but nothing... Can't wait for swelling to go away - Patience isn't my middle name.. My GS got a tattoo removed too - I love how smooth my face is from lasering - go see a doc about it..

Just had eye lift - lifestyle face lift - with laser - and for me the laser didn't hurt at all - truly no pain per say period - a little discomfort mostly from the staples behind my ear.. I bruised pretty bad under chin purple like an eggplant and bruising down neck and behind ear and under eyes (those are almost gone) - I was expecting major pain from Lasering - as this is what gf who had it a couple of yrs ago told me - but I gotta say pain was minimal and very controllable with liquid tylenol.. Had surgery 8/8 - was suppose to go back to work today - but haven't - May go Friday - I didn't tell anyone I was having it - didn't think the swelling would be so bad - still peeling some - but each day it's a little better - The lift was my 4 yr Anniversary Present to myself ;0)

Hi to all the X/Converted banders who use to post on LBT - You may remember me - IndioGirl55 - Well I'm reaching out to you all to help and welcome my DIL - Melissa77. She got her sleeve 7/11/11 and is in need of support and help - I told her to join here and she would get info and support here like I got on LBT.. Thanks I truly appreciate everyone welcoming her.. I'm doing good - 4 yrs out - no issues (knock wood) and have maintained my weight loss..

Hey Melinda We use to be able to tell when pple where lurking LOL but since they changed the site we can't.. Welcome.. I was 52 when banded - the best advice I got was from the 50's thread back then in o7 - Remember the band is just a tool - it's really about the whole lifetime lifestyle change - you know those things you heard in all the diets you have been on before - but didn't pay attention too.. LOL - after we lost the weight we go back to our normal eating - (which is what got us fat in the 1st place) and slacking on exercise. Eat healthy - follow the band rules - exercise - make the changes - the band is a great tool - but it's just that the real work is up to you -

LOL - I eat healthy - I don't diet - I follow the rules - I exercise - My signature on LBT is Eat Healthy + Exercise + Band = Success - It's what got me where I am today - I feel 10 yrs younger - have 100% more energy - Living and Loving Life I have been a lucky (knock wood) with my band - if I lost it - would convert to sleeve

Good Evening Peeps OMG talked to Melissa last night - she was crying over food - Did any of you do that after surgery - I thought it was cuz she was hungry - but she's not - she has no hunger she has to make herself eat.. She just want to eat for the sake of eating - she said it made her happy - I told her food did not really make her happy that she was stuffing down her feelings w/food - she needs a shrink and go to support groups - Just like us they banded our stomachs but not our heads - with her they cut out her stomach she has no hunger - but her brain is telling her - oh you f'd up - why did you do this - now I can't eat a loaf of sour dough bread w/butter - tortillas w/butter - bowls of pasta and rice.. She's doing better today - told her to sign up Sleevetalk.com Linda 2 pairs for 900 isn't that bad - I need to get my eyes ck'd Candice LOL Gigs = job.. 113 here today per my car ;0)

I just called Steph - She's back at Jeff's cousin's house - I think I may have woke her up - she sounded weak - said was in pain - but to be expected - had a lady doc who was just written up in Newsweek or something like that - leader in bariatric surgery - said that Steph most likely had been slipped for a couple of yrs.. She may ck into Mexico & sleeve once she healed.

Steph is out of surgery and doing fine ... Karla - I work on not over eating - but sometimes it happens - I am really trying - so many pple are losing their bands - some of it is our fault - Ice cream slder - so that's not so bad for the band - it's when we eat too much food. Glad you are going for your Mamo - I need to call and get my appointment... I have been going every yr since I have had my band... Pretty good for me since I'm not a doc person.. well off to the gym 114 here today

OMG about Steph... Brandy (the pin up girl) - Julie - Karri - Laura - Steph - and I know someone else too - can't think of who - but alot of pple getting bands removed - Watch what you eat - don't over fill your pouch - I think that has something to do with it. Not sure - since I'm not a doc - I think it's a combination of placement - and how you take care of if and the luck of the draw.. Well - not much to report - work home - playing my fb games - that's about it.. I am going to bed early tonite - I am on the pooped side..

Good Morning Peeps Had a good time - glad to be home - Melissa doing well - but watching food channel - her fav past time.. Told her she and to stop - she want's a cheeseburger - want's bread - ordered stuff from Bariatric Choice - I really pray she will succeed.. Joseph's bday was quite just us he liked is blanket - Visit w/Sis on Saturday - she's not feeling well got a cold - which isn't good - all puffed up for the steriods.. Had a nice visit w/her and bro in law and nieces - glad to be home - missed my dogs - got home around 2 yesterday and veggie.. Had too many sweets but that how it goes when I visit them... Back to normal this week - made turkey meat loaf (left over from when you guys where hear - so have lunch today) Yesterday was my 4 yrs Anniversary.. Well gotta hit the shower - work Ugh...

Hey Karri - Glad you are doing well - Funny never though we would say eating was a pain in the ass LOL - I understand Lee freaking I would too LOL - Well if you stop to get gas in this area let me know ;0) I'll run by and say hi Cy - Sounds like you have done well - 140's would be thin for your height but truly family is use to seeing you fat - so they think that 140 is too skinny - you are very young like 23 right - well 140 might be ok - I don't know since I'm a shorty LOL Just got home from the gym.. I'm poop - gotta wrap DS present - feed the animals - pack - I guess that's about it but i just want to veg - got camera charging - trying to remember everything I need to take Karla I speed read all the time LOL I didn't know about DD bf till I read Candice's response - made me go back and re read LOL
