So CAL Bandsters

Recommended Posts

I don't regret it. I am one of the not-so-lucky ones. I have alot of PBing and slimming; but the better I understand the band the fewer problems I have the more I like it. I would do it again tomorrow. Good luck!

Hi Wendy (and everyone reading this!) :)

I'm not yet banded... STILL WAITING for the office to give me a DATE!!!

I say this is caps because I started all this after Christmas of LAST YEAR. :)

I'm in Fallbrook... I could hock the cats and come your way sometime for a mini meet-up... or we could meet half way or something. Are there any other bandeds or pre-b's in your area, or between us that you know of?

Let me know what sounds good to you, OK? (NO fair sayin "An In & Out burger." either!) LOL

Hugs,

plumptuous

Hi Plumptuous! I am in San Diego and work in Escondido so not far from you. I've been looking for someone closer to me to chat with. How are things progressing for you?

Hey you Orange County Bandsters. There is going to be a seminar with Ali which wrote a book Fighting Wieght. I don't know if you guys have read it but she started at 325 and is now 150. She got the band a few years ago and it is a great book. She is speaking at Hyatt in LA next month. Here is the information if you want to go. It is free and should be really informational for us bandsters or if you want to bring someone thinking about getting the band. LAP-BAND®: Moment of Truth

I am in Lakewood (near Orange and LA County) if anyone wants to meet or just chat I am available. I also just recently separated and I am in need of freinds to go out with. (you tend to loose all your single friends when you marry).

I am in La Verne, CA about 40 miles east of Downtown L.A. I am new to this site, and I am now excited to see all of the So Cal people here, I was feeling a little lonely until I found this local group. I just joined this site today, and I am enjoying all of the discussions. I am not banded yet, I am in the preliminary stages, just finished my evaluations, the Psych eval was pretty emotional for me! Now I am waiting for the final approval from my insurance company, and then I can set my band date! I am a little scared and excited at the same time!

Welcome Stephaniem21

This thread really isn't that active. But the rest of the board is...

I am sorry that your Psych evaluation was emonitional - mine was a piece of cake (pun intended)

Read all you can and please know that the band will do 25% of the work but that the other 75% is up to you - to make healthy food choices exercise etc..

I gotta run right now - so can't give you all the advise i ususally give newbies - will ck with you later - just wanted you to feel welcomed...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
