Getting sleeved August 8th

Recommended Posts

I can't believe I'm getting sleeved on August 8th. I started researching this topic the last week of April and started this process with my PCP on May 2nd. I originally had considered going to Mexico and paying out of pocket because I didn't think I'd qualify through Kaiser. Well, I did qualify and here I am! I can't wait to start my new life!

Wow, you just saw the case manager last week and your getting sleeved that quickly. I had my Psych appointment last Tuesday and now I'm waiting for an appointment with Liz (case Manager). I really hope I move along as quickly as you are.

Did they set you up for an upper GI? I had my EKG last Friday and I'm not sure what else they will require. Maybe we will be in Richmond doing the sleeve dance together.

Hugs,

Shell

Oh yea, CONGRATS!!!!

:D

Yep! I was nervous because a girl who was seen by Liz right before me came out and told me her surgery was scheduled for August 29th. I'm sure she asked for that date because I told Liz I wanted mine as soon as possible and that's the date she gave me!

I did not have to have an upper GI. I just had my blood work done and an EKG and that's it. There will be a day long class you have to have and a physical, but I was able to attend the class the very next day, after my case manager appointment. I had to use a sick day for it, but it was worth it!

OK, that sounds exactly like how my appointments have gone. Maybe they only do an Upper GI for certain health issues.

WooHoo, I think this may mean that I could be sleeved sooner than I thought. So very awesome!

Thanks for the response and by the way, we are neighbors. I live in Orangevale - right around the block practically.

Howdy neighbor! I love Orangevale. I have a few friends that way. It's an all American, Apple Pie kinda town. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
