Sorry to be gross, but does anyone else have problems only going #2 like maybe once a week? I mean literally once per week if I'm lucky..... Any suggestions?

I take Benefiber every day. It's Fiber that dissolves in any liquid without taste. It keeps you regular. It's not uncommon to only go once a week. It seems most of us have bouts with Constipation. You just have to do things to counteract it.

Not much in, not much out! You don't say what food stage you are in, but Protein doesn't have much residue after digestion. When you can eat all foods, the Fiber and skins in fruits and vegetables should help bulk things up. Some people get nervous not going more frequently and use senna or herbal teas daily. I just think of all the Water I am saving from not having to flush as often :P

I have to agree with Foxbins. Though i could prob count about 4x weekly.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, as long as you are getting in all of your nutrients.

Yep, agree with Foxbins. I have the same issue. Some days are better than others. Not a lot of input = not a lot of output.

I would be happy for once every 5 days!!! :) Try once every 10!!! I have tried stool softners and Miralax (either nothing or way too much for me to leave the house) I just want to be normal !! So I searched this site for information on it, one guy said he took fish oil ..well I got some yeaterday so lets see what happens. I will let you know. Good luck

Magnesium is a natural laxative. It is something that your body needs, and any excess it "gets rid of".... and you get the desired result. lol.

you all have to remember that just because you don't go doesn't mean you are constipated!! and taking laxatives unnecessarily can really mess your system up.

Constipation is bloating, pain when trying to have a bm, pressure and trying to go, but can't. if you simply have not pooped in a few days, that IS NOT constipation!!! that just means you don't have anything to get rid of. and when you do, you WILL GO!!

i use to go a couple times a day and now I go about 3 times a week. that was a weird thing for me to wrap my head around. and my dr. explained this concept to me and told me if I take laxatives that are not warranted what damage i can do to my system.

be careful!

Kelly ;)

I have the same problem. I had Constipation before (i used to go once a week) now I don't go. I have no urge and I feel weird if day #10 creep up without me going, so I would take something to make me go. It's frustrating

I've been worried about this same thing. Right after being sleeved, it was a bit of diarrhea, then once I got into solids, I was going every two or three days, no problems. Then it got to 7 days with nothing, I took all manner of things and finally went. Then it went another 7 days, I took mineral oil, enema, glycerin suppositories, stool softeners, Miralax, and nothing. I went to urgent care because I was really worried that nothing was working. They said they thought I had a bowel obstruction or ileus or something since they didn't hear bowel sounds. They sent me to the ER for xrays and diagnoses. They said they didn't see an obstruction, they gave me lactulose and sent me home. Hours later, I had some relief, but not that much. Went to follow up with my doctor this Monday. She told me to take a dulcolax suppository that night and to take 2 stool softeners each night and miralax each morning for two weeks. Well, the first night (after dulcolax) I went and felt much better, I went the next morning so I thought this was 'behind me' pardon the pun. But again I feel bloated, don't feel like I have to go but can't, just feel like I should go. I am still doing the miralax and stool softeners, drinking lots of liquids, I eat a lot of fruits, vegs and Protein and I also add benefiber and stopped taking Iron. I don't take any opiods or anything else. I am not sure what else to do. Pre-op I went at least twice a day. I obviously didn't expect to be like that, but twice a week would be nice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
