I have been just browsing around this site reading people stories for about a week or so, I figured it's about time I introduced myself. :)

Hello all,

My name is Lily and I am a 19 almost 20 year old college student. I go to FAU in Boca Raton, Fl, and my surgeon is Dr. Domkowski from Sebastian River Medical Center. I am so happy too hear all of you have had so much success.

My surgery date is September 20th and I am so excited to get my new life started. I am young, in college, and ready to get my self-esteem back. As many say, these are supposed to be the best years of my life.

I am 5'8, 266lbs. My goal weight is 140ish. If any of you are around my age, height, and weight I would love to hear your stories. Also, I would love to hear tips for success from all you who are already sleeved.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! :)

Hey lady!

Welcome, I love having another young Floridian join the board! It is awesome to have you. I will also be a September sleever if all things work out right. I am from Tampa, Fl and I will starting up school there in the fall. I am sure this is going to be quite the journey for both of us, having this surgery in the beginning of the school year, but we will both get through it and be better for it!

Hey Lily!

Welcome to VST. What more can I say that hasnt been said already? I've had so many anxieties and fears calmed from reading the posts on this site and I'm sure it will be just as helpful to you too. I'm learning that there's truckloads of info available to us - I havent even looked into the recipes section yet, but it's great to know that when I am at that point of this process, I can just click into that forum and find just what I need.

Feel free to post anything, you're bound to have someone chime in and give you some encouraging, and positive advice/info.

Hi Lily;

Our stats are similar, minus the age difference and a minor weight difference. You are going to love the sleeve! The sleeve is a miracle, I can not say enough good things about it. Question, are you having surgery while you are in school?

My tip, read General Surgery discussion/what you will need for surgery. Being prepared is the best thing you can do. Read, read more and then ask questions by posting. Not everyones answers are the same. Surgeons do things a little differently so advice might be slightly different.

I would say my only regret is not having done this earlier. You are smart to take charge NOW, not later. Feel free to ask any questions, we are here to cheer you on.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
