Two Month Follow Up With Surgeon

Recommended Posts

This morning I went for my two-month follow up with my surgeon. I have been in a stall since June 19 and I am getting so frustrated. Dr. Spaw asked me lots of questions about how and what I am eating right now. He said he didn't see any dietary reason why I would be in such a stall. He suggested that it might be because about that time in June my blood pressure plummeted and I quit taking my lisinopril with diuretic.

Anyway, he was so encouraging and assured me that when I come back in November, there is NO WAY I will still be at the weight I am today. He made me feel so much better. I was really getting down and worried that this was all my body was going to let go of.

A funny thing did happen. I had a list of questions and one of them was about the tenderness/soreness in my tummy area. He asked me if it was cramping or tender to touch. I told him it wasn't and that it wasn't that bad. He said it shouldn't be from surgery because all of that would be healed by now. On my way back to work this morning it occurred to me: I have been doing crunches. Of COURSE my tummy is tender. I had forgotten all about tummy soreness from exercise. LOL.

Lol I did the exact same thing about abdominal soreness. My surgeon and I had a great laugh about it. :) it's amazing what exercise does! I've been in a stall for 3 weeks now, weight wise. My question to you is, do you measure inches? I've found that in the last 3 weeks, I'm not losing weight, but I am definitely losing inches. I still can't tell looking at myself, but the tape doesn't lie.

Hang in there! You're doing great and they'll start dropping soon enough!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
