Slow weight loss is getting me down

Recommended Posts

I think some of us just don't lose weight quickly. I am 8 weeks post op tomorrow, and I feel I am losing very slowly. I lost 11lbs in the 2weeks pre op diet, and since then in the 8 weeks I have lost 16lbs. That evens out to 2lbs a week - some weeks were 3lbs, and some only 1lb. I'm feeling so much better already though, and if I carried on at 2lbs a week, it won't be that long before I reach my target of 12 stone (168lbs). I'm thinking now I will probably drop my target further as I approach that weight. My hubby doesn't like skinny women, and he said he will trade me in for a fat bird if I lose too much  so I will not want to go below 11 stone (154lbs).

It makes it harder when you read people are dropping 6 or 9lbs in a week, but it does vary as to how much you have to lose in the first place. and all of our bodies are different. I am eating so little compared to what I used to eat - I can't fail to keep losing - I hope :P People keep telling me that they can see the difference, and that makes me feel good.

Try not to compare yourself with others. I know it's hard as I do it too, but I have to keep telling myself it is coming off, and if it takes another year, I will still get there. Also losing more slowly means less sagging skin. I use Bio Oil in the hope it will help, and other various skin stuff that I slap on at every opportunity

Thanks to all of you that took the time to read and answer. This is a journey that is tough to take alone. I feel better hearing from you. It gives me the motivation to keep going. Proud to be on the "losers" team, even if it is at a snails pace.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
