I had my first barf episode today after lunch. I had a gortons grilled filet which is about 2 ozs and i had about 3 teaspons of applesauce. My chest started hurting and my mouth started watering

i ran to the bathroom...and within minuted i barfed...but it was only the applesauce. Never been so happy to throw up....at least now i know my sleeve works and I haven't been eating too much

That doesn't seem like much, did you eat too fast maybe?

And isn't it weird that only part of what you ate came up? Thankfully, I have not had that happen, but have heard others say that when they do that, it is not like a full on vomit and only get rid of some of the stuff they eat! WEIRD!!

Sorry you got sick, but glad you are happy to know your sleeve works!! LOL

Kelly ;)

For some reason apple sauce and peaches (certain types of fruit) upset my tummy too.... It's so weird, its like i can feel it going down and it makes me sick to my tummy too but if I feel like I'm gonna barf I kinda walk away and take deep breaths lol... it works lol. Are you feeling better?

it really wasn't a lot...i am thinking either I ate too fast, or didnt chew enough, or it was just the combo.

it's funny how our stomach works...I had the chest pain before but this was the first time I actually barfed lol.

I haven't barfed yet, but I'm only 5 weeks out. I can't eat 2 oz of Protein yet, but it sounds like you might have eaten to fast.

All I have to do is make the statement "I can't eat 2 oz of Protein yet" to know my sleeve works. It's hard sometimes, but I love it.

I have the exact same reaction that you do in that I barf up only the last few bites...I've never felt like I tossed everything in my sleeve...just maybe the last few bites that made it overfull? I also have the sensation of my mouth watering or just having massive over-secretions of saliva. It is pretty gross. I haven't thrown up in awhile as I am getting better (finally!) at figuring out what the subtle signals are that I am full.

Good to know that the restriction is REAL though huh?? :o

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
