Future constipation???

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Well, I have had fissures in the past and I'm due to get surgery at the end of June. I'm wondering does everyone experience Constipation? If so how did you avoid butt problems??? This is the last thing I need...it has been a stuggle getting over these issues in the recent months and I don't want to make it worse after surgery...daily pain sucks!!!!!!!!!! What do you all do to avoid this apparent side effect and when could you take something for it????

Thanks guys, Tracy W.

Talk to your surgeon about this. They can order stool softener for you to take after Recovery. Drink lots of fluids, too. You want to keep yourself flushed out.

Miralax once a day for me, I've taken it for years. 1/2 cap a day in a juice glass of Crystal Lite.

I take 3 stool softeners a day everyday, without any problems, I go about every 3 days and it works great for me. Otherwise I don't seem to be able to go. And i just take the store generic brand when they are on sale.

Have a great week!

I take the calcium citrate liquid from costco (I think it's called Reviva) and it has magnesium in it. Two tablespoons in the afternoon/evening works for me in the morning.

I take 2-3 servings of benefiber a day. If I still haven't had a bm in three days, I take a stool softener or two. Always does the trick. It was better after 6 weeks when I could start eating veggies. I also do better if I get my 64+ oz. Water.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
