What to bring as gifts, if not food

Recommended Posts

Hi , this seems to be a challenge to me because I have always shown my love by bringing a gift of nice wine or specialty food along when I go to someones house. Also, what do I bring as a gift to someones house if their dieting or had WLS. What do you guys keep in the house for friends that stop by. What about wine? I know that this is a social issue, but it will be a barrier I need to figure out. Please any and all suggestions.

I like cute wine glass charms or serving type dishes. Ourdoor gardening stuff and the ever popular flowers work too.

I love the wind chime idea and specialty cheese - maybe adding a nice cheese knife

I bring flowers if it's summertime. In the winter, I bring fruit or depending on the occasion, a fruit salad.

Sometimes a gift, like candles.

I'd bring food even if I can't eat it, or wine. Other ideas I've used: gourmet coffee, tea towels, candles, potted plant, box of candy, mixed nuts, decor related to the holiday or event. Pretty or funny paper cocktail napkins. I try to pick something the host can simply put up without fussing with it (therefore no flowers unless they are already arranged in a vase) and something that could be used then or saved for later, in case they don't want to add what I've brought to the party food/decor.

Lot's of great ideas here!! Thanks for the topic. I would also like to add that you could still bring food, just focus on more protein/low carb recipes. I also love the candle idea.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
