5 days post op-dehydration and pneumonia

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was sleeved on 26 April in San Francisco and was planning to fly home tomorrow. However during the night I got quite sick and spent all day today in the emergency room. They told me I was severally dehydrated and have pneumonia in my right lung.

Does anybody have experience with dehydration and pneumonia post op?

thanks,

So sorry to hear that you got sick after surgery! I haven't been sleeved yet, so can't give you any advice, but I'm wishing you a very speedy recovery!

I wonder why you are dehydrated. Did you not sip on liquids throughout the day when you were in the hospital? People can get pneumonia from being in bed and not walking around. Did they give you something to blow in throughout the day at the hospital?

I am sure you're on antibiotics and just remember you have to constantly sip sip sip to get your fluids in so you don't get dehydrated again.

I wasn't dehydrated, but I had double pneumonia. My primary doc told me to admit myself into ER, so I did. Alot of antibiotics and breathing. I am still recovering, but doing much better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
