Hey all, Just wanted to give the info to my Long Island, NY friends! There are a few groups in the Area.

Nassau County

Post-Ops Supporting Each Other (POSE) Is the support group I have been running for two years. We meet once a month at my office in Baldwin (1st Thursday of the month) and once a month at Panera bread In East Meadow (3rd Thursday of the month) 7pm - 8:45pm

Suffolk County

Second Chance At Life Every Day (SCALE) is a support group my good friend Heather runs every other Saturday morning at 9am in Sayville.

Good Samaritan Hospital runs a support group on the opposite Saturdays from scale at Good Sam Hospital. It is open to all. Also at 9am.

They are all free and excellent groups!

Hi my name is Elaine and I have a little support group of men and women from Nassau and Suffolk Counties that meet up. Our next meet up is June 3rd 2pm at Panera in Garden City. We take turns meeting in areas of Nassau/Suffolk County. If interested please feel free to come. We are all at different stages in our journey. I am 9 months post op and down 78 pounds already, but have had stalls along the way and 15 pounds from goal. Elaine

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
