My PCP is the one who suggested I look into the VSG surgery. His comment was that the bypass and the banding both have so many complications but he has not seen any complications from the VSG. I had never heard of the sleeve but that was enough for me to check into it.

I have surgery in 3 weeks. My PCP suggested this in the first place and referred me to the surgeon and it's all being covered by my insurance. I don't know why you WOULDN'T let your PCP know.

I asked my pcp to recommend me to a WLS Dr, and she did. She has been great!

some insurance requires PCP referral, some don't. I didn't finalize my decision until I got my PCP's input and she was completely supportive of the decision and thought it was a great idea so I moved forward. But I didn't need her to write me a referral or anything (She did even offer. LOL!).

it's good to let surgeon and PCP know. So surgeon can update PCP and PCP can provide any information the surgeon needs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
