55 and happy..total loss right now is 160lbs. at 11 months out..Lots of sags and everythinjg going south..but nothing that a good plastics can't fix...

All the things I can do now has made my life worth living...before surgery I was just existing :(

Now I am on the move, living and doing and having a good time just getting back to my old me...

That said....people tell me I have changed a lot..I feel different about so many things..I am not recognized by anyone I know....It is so cool!..I am glad I joined the human race again and will never look at what I went through as a terrible experience......But that it saved my life and gave me a life! :)

I have such a hard getting in my Water.....I have it on my desk at work' date=' but am lucky if I drink 24 ounces during the 5 hours I'm here.......but when I'm out out of the office, I remember to sip sip sip.......[/quote']

I do the same. I'm so wrapped up in my computer and concentrating, that I forget to drink even though the bottle is right there. I think I will attach a sticky note to my laptop to remind me, until I start to ignore it.

Thank you for the words of encouragement. My best friend at work had it done a year ago and she looks amazing and has made her goal. I have about 40 more pounds to lose then she did. November just can't get here fast enough.

YOU will look amazing also. Save your TIGHTEST PANTS/SHIRT. When you are feeling like OH I am not losing, PUT those clothes on, because you will LOSE, GAIN.... STALL. I stalled for over a month.. and thought REALLY this is it... but your body will adjust if you do what the DR ordered and you FOLLOW the rules.. I wish you the best of luck, and HOLLER if I can help you. also, keep MOM, Milk of Mag on hand, it comes in very HANDY.... and relieves so much PAIN. THANK YOU MOM Ü

I had my surgery on 2/28/13 at the age of 53. It is the BEST thing I've ever done for my health. It has been like being reborn! Any surgery has risks and the two weeks pre-op on the liquid diet and first month or so post-op weren't easy but it was ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!

I am scheduled for surgery on Dec. 16, so 65 days!!! I'm on a six months pre-op for my surgeon and my insurance...labs, psyche visit, new rules for eating, preop diet (my husband has lost 33 lbs...about 15 more than me????) which should help me after surgery. I've spent HOURS on here tonight reading each of your stories...it is all so encouraging...also good to read about the "stalls" to know what I might be facing...good to see how to get in the Protein shortly after surgery. I think it was Katie713 that gave a schedule of what she ate and when...I thought that was very beneficial. I plan to print that off. Also, after all of this reading, I've been wondering about Kat1 after her terrible experience with the infection...hope that she has recovered from all of that and progressing on with this change of life. BTW, I will be almost 58, with a January 4 birthday. Encouraged to read that it's not too late for me????

I'm hitting 50 in just a few short weeks, 2 months out from surgery........still have a long way to go, but I'm feeling wonderful, everything in my life has improved---more flexible, more active, more energy, less pain in the knees.....stronger, too......

Welcome to VST.......and best wishes on this journey.

Welcome! And best of luck with your pre-surgery diet and upcoming surgery. It figures your husband has lost more weight than you, doesn't it? My husband and I did WW together a few years ago. He lost 40 lbs and I only lost 7 lbs! Aaaaaarrrrggghhhh!!!! LOL! Now I'm getting close to his weight (I'm 6'1", an inch taller than he is ) and he has been eating everything I leave behind. I am looking forward to the day I weigh less than he does!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
